Why Jason Statham Should Replace Vin Diesel....

The Almighty

New member
...as the "next big action star."

1) Acting ability.

Compare the quality of acting in "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch" to the wooden dialogue spouted in "The Fast and the Furious," "XXX," and "Pitch Black."

(Yes, Vin Diesel did appear in "Saving Private Ryan" and "Boiler Room," both of which were extremely good movies, but they were not "his" movies so to speak.)

2) Physical ability.

Ok, Diesel outweighs Statham by probably 10 pounds, but it is not fair to Diesel to compare the two in terms of physical abilities. Statham is an Olympic caliber athlete (which is probably why he competed in the 1986 Olympics). He has an extensive background in boxing as well as martial arts. Watch "The Transporter" and keep in mind that, like Jackie Chan, Statham insists on doing all of his own stunts and did not have the luxury of wires during his fight scenes.

3) Screen charisma.

So far, the majority of women I have asked have said they would prefer Statham over Diesel any day of the week when it comes to looks. To be fair, both Diesel and Statham have proven that they can hold a movie on their own, however anyone who compares the movies of the two can no doubt claim that Statham is more entertaining to watch.

Do the film industry a favor and support Statham's movies.

Vin Diesel is awful as an actor. He has a gruesome head, hideous smile and his voice can peel paint. He built his anthill reputation in Hollywood with films like XXX, FNF, Pitch Black, which basically would have done well with anyone in the role since only testosterone lacking teenagers are the ones who go see this shit.

Saving Private Ryan and Boiler Room are exceptions, but let's be factual. What exactly did he do in Saving Private Ryan beside spout a few lines of dialog and get shot? His role didn't mean shit. War humor and dialog are not original. Throwing out one liners is the norm.

Also, his tough guy act simply doesn't fool anyone. I don't care if he were some kind of bouncer. He doesn't project toughness. Hell Pierce Bronson appears tougher than he.

He has nothing to make me jealous. He may make millions for his brain dead movies but that don't impress me none. Martin Lawrence makes in the same range, but that ain't saying much. Hell, 45 minutes a night keeps me with access to millions anyway (through my BF).

So what's that leave?

I am built 3X better than he is, I bet I can kick his ass from one end of Christopher Street to the next, and there ain't a female alive I can't walk into a room and steal off his arm.

Hell, I better get myself a Hollywood agent.

AAp, i have come to a realization. If we met, we would either get along really well and be buds, or i would impale you with something. I think it would depend on the situation. You remind me of myself only older, gay, and more worldly. I think the last one has to do with the age factor.

Dude, I am only 28.

i am 21. only by a couple months. 7 years in the real world is a big difference from being 21 in school.

You better be using 21 and in school to your advantage. Better be using the college exchange program to be going to school in other cities for a semester at a cheap cost and seeing different aspects of life. You should be going to Colorado for a semester, NYC for a semester, London for a semester...

otherwise you will be kicking yourself in the ass when you are 30 and only have 2 weeks vacation per year to get around on.

Yep....like the assplorer says, use these years for exploring. You will never regret it.

I'm glad somebody else liked the movie also. I was suprised to see that dude in such great shape, although I didn't know he was in the Olympics.

Vin Diesel is so god awful at acting, I tried to watch XXX again and again I turned it off about 1/4 the way into the movie.

I remember the exact piont that I turned it off.

"I live for this shit!!!" said with a dumbass expression on his mildy retarded face.

what do you mean "replace"???

Everywhere I read, magazines are referring to Diesel as "the next big action hero," "the man who will replace arnold," etc. I simply think he nowehere deserves such praise....Statham is much more worthy.

lol

XXX is easily one of the worst movies i've ever seen. fortunately i didn't see it in the theater, otherwise it probably would've been the third movie i've ever walked out on. i turned XXX off shortly after the part where vin's about to go up in a plane, and he breaks out the line, "where's my peanuts?" in the dipshit voice of his.

my gf of course thinks vin is hot, so whenever his Neanderthaloid face appears on the tv, i never miss saying, "where's my peanuts?" in my best retard voice(not too far off from my normal voice).

The sad part is that I can usually watch ANYTHING, as long as it has.

1. Naked chicks
2. Lots of violence

in any order, but I just can't stomach the horrible acting that Corky Diesel delivers.

Well,I'll go against the grain here and state that I do believe Vin has it in him to put out quality work,I really enjoyed his character in Pitch Black. That being said,I agree with your take on Jason,he has ability, charisma and physical/fighting skills, and he displayed a damn decent physique in transporter, which I was unaware he possesed.I think he could break out with the right role and supporting cast in an action role(the cast in transporter was weak). It will be interesting to see where he goes in the future.

Indeed. I will concede that Vin can have a semi-decent career...but in my opinion Jason is much more worthy.

Yes, the supporting cast in transporter sucked balls. He needs to hook up with John Woo and do a movie.

Yep,and have a top quality actor(or supporting cast)to go up against...He displayed some nice moves in Transporter for sure.Very quick.

I think I remember u saying you liked the movie a lot. I bought the dvd when it came out yesterday....do yourself a favor and rent it so you can check out the extended fight scenes. Good shit.

Vin is cool... my avatar is of "Retic" his character in pitch black, not vin specifically...i thought retic was a badass villain.

Vin ain't cool at all. Anyone could appear "cool" in the role of Riddick. Hell even Edward Norton could have pulled that one off.

Vin makes me laugh, but I don't mind seeing him in stuff -- he is what he is. I thought he was pretty good in knockaround guys. I liked the dude in Transporter too -- he is a bit more cerebral, but c'mon -- in the (formula) action genre, who cares as long as it's somewhat believable? Shakespeare it's not.

LMFAO..... I agree 100%. I'd also like to add that anyone who looks better bald than with hair is one ugly motherfucker.

BWAHAH

Dotn count on Statham replacing him... Statham is white and you know those liberal ass diveristy shoving media whores are not going to glorify a white male anymore unless they are forced to.

Whenever they get away with it they portray white males as gay, nazis, KKK, impotent and/or fat stupid slobs.

TV is even worse... EVERY fucking show is jumping on the bandwagon and including the token black/mexican... no matter how unrealistic the situation.

I watched some dumb ass TV show last night "Wanda" depicting an office full of minorities... all the managers were minorities except for one white guy and of course they make him dopey fat and bald.

LOL must have been a government office.

It's pretty clear that AAP harbours sexual feelings for vin and is upset about it

I think Vin has shrunk a great deal since Pitch Black.

Jason is much more entertaining and doesnt come off as dopey as Vin does.

I also seem to like Jason's characters more. Not quite as 'flat' if ya know what I mean.

Despite Vin being a closet queen, I have no feelings for him.

He is simply too ugly for me.

I like Statham.

Vin looked about 235 in Knockaround Guys...his upper body was freakin huge.

nope.....go rent the movie - he looks up 15 from Pitch Black and closer to 20 since xxx.

He must have been fat then. Cause he was borderline pathetic in XXX

He was looking bad in xxx...he has hit some sauce - no doubt.

I worry about you now.... not only was he out of shape, but in the other movie knockaround guys, they paired him with tiny actors. That is why he looked big.

Corn, you need a Ho-Ho quickly.... you are jibbering around... going diet crazy.

Knockaround Guys was actually filmed before Pitch Black....I think he did look a little bigger than he does these days.

AH-HA!!!!

I was gonna say the same thing bro. Knockaround guys was filmed back in 2000 I think originally. It just had no market for making the movie successful with the cast UNTIL Vin Diesel became the new "in guy" in Hollywood. He has basically shrunk to nothing latley. I guess he figured with all the money he is making now that he don't need to do em anymore. That would be fine except in every movie he is in he looks down about 10 lbs more. O boy needs to hit the shit again and look like a action hero instead of whatever the hell he is currently.

I really dislike Thin Diesel. He acts like he started the action game, when in reality all he does is a bunch of 'yo b!' movies these days. Pitch Black was good, but in a direct to video kind of way, like Cube. Although it was in the theater, it just didn't have that kind of quality.

Boiler Room was also good, but Thin was NOT the star of it. He was a supporting actor. I think if he did more serious roles, and was not the lead, he would be a good actor. I do not think he can carry a movie though. Fast and the Furious was the first time little 16 year old kiddies had seen a lil bit of muscle in a movie, and their piece of shit wannabe race car hondas. So, of course it was a hit, and now Thin is a 'star'.

He had a good build in Pitch Black, and was decently sized in Knockaround Guys BUT these days Vin IS Thin. In Fast and the Furious he was about 210-215 tops. In XXX maybe 190-200. That is not quality if you ask me, not for an 'action star'. When you come from a time when Arnold, Dolph, Stallone and even Van Damme were out there, a 200lb Vin Diesel is not that impressive. Even at his current small size, he isn't even all that cut. His abs are barely there.

I don't think he is 6'2 like he claims either. He is always cast with shorter, little guys, which makes him look huge. But in XXX when he is standing next to the two Russian guys in the club, he looks about 5'10 tops. Unless those guys were both 6'5-6'6, then he is not 6'2. They made him look like a shrimp boat. This was the first time, you ever see him cast next to anyone of any sort of size (height or body wise).

I think The Rock is a MUCH better choice for the 'next' action star. He at least has some charisma, and the right 'look'. He actually reminds me of a young Arnold. He can be extremely cocky, and over confident, yet you like him for it. Vin on the other hand comes off like he is just trying too hard.
