Why is, or does, endurance seem to be more important in the military? Just curious as to what everyone will say. I assume it's just because there could always be a time of war, and they need people who can endure alot of physical pain and still have a certain degree of strength? Though, I think fighting and war is half a mental battle. If you have an aggressive attitude, and can intimidate your opponent, you've already won half the battle.

It's pretty safe to say that hand to hand combat is pretty rare in today's wars and that's really the only situation where a lot of strength (relatively speaking) would be important. Endurance is more practical for long missions, marching, running, etc.

Yeah, I suppose. It makes sense, after all. I personally hate guns. Such a cowardly way of fighting, it takes no real talent except not being cross-eyed or fuckin' retarded.

Think of it this way.... It's easier to train 1000s and 1000s of soldiers to point and twitch your trigger finger, than hand to hand combat (beware the Chinese, no offense to Chinese) possibly agains Chinese soldiers who train their entire life in martial arts.

That's not my point. My point is, I feel guns are a cowardly, dishonorable way of fighting. Any fool can use a gun. I'd like to see some skilled fighting take place. Not just gun-slinging bullshit. Pussy? Yeah, I'm sure. That makes alot of sense. Because I hate guns, I'm a pussy? Shut the fuck up.

Okay, okay, but we're talking war. I don't care if your enemy can bench but 50 pounds and you can bench 5000, if your enemy has a gun, they're gonna let your brain out through jagged holes in your head, no? What you're talking is exhibition, or war fought years ago with out projectiles, you see?

Gah, I know that! >_< I'm saying I advocate hand-to-hand fighting, or fighting that requires strength to some degree (swordsplay and such). I say this only because it's how I feel, haha. Sorry if I snapped, just like, blah... I just got home from a LONG run and showered and was so exhausted and just didn't wanna deal at the moment.
