Why is my body doing this ? I'm pissed. Help !!!

Hi all.

I have finally been eating right according to the posts I got back from all you gals. Eating 5 times a day 3 meals 2 snacks. I I roughly consume about 115 to 125 gr. of protein a day. And I have my last carbs before 5:00 pm. I also supplement with my 2 protein shakes a day.

My problem is since I went up to eating 5 times a day rather than 3 times a day. I gained weight. NOT A GOOD KIND THOUGH !!!! My thighs & especially my butt have gotten a lot thicker & wider. I have tried for months, & months to get a lifted, sculpted ass, & the kind of legs I have always wanted, & this happens.

Now what do I do ? ? ? ?

PS: I did leave out of my posts in the past, I should have mentioned it earlier. Do to my injury & my doctor's orders I AM NOT ALLOWED TO DO ANY RIGOURUS CARDIO !!!! I can't run, bike or swim. only light walking. but I really don't think I need to lose any bodyweight. I am 5'6 tall & 125-130 lbs.


But my focus is to gain muscle, but my eating 5 times a day. plenty of protein, veggies, & water. And limiting my carbs to only morning & afternoons, How did mmy thighs & butt get fat ? They weren't like that 3 weeks ago !!!!

I would not freak out too much - you are not fat. Try walking in the mornings. You know powerwalking. Thats not RIGOURUS cardio - might just help. JMO. :)
 
If it is just the scale that would be you gaining muscle not fat. Muscle weights more than fat. Is this your visual perception or are clothes actually tighter etc.? Could you post exactly what you are doing in terms of lifting. Also exactly what you are eating.

Hi & thanks for your post. My clothes fit the same, I don't even own a body weight scale. My legs & butt just look a lot wider & bigger !!!!!!

In terms of lifting I usually work 1 sometimes 2 body parts once a week. chest & back on mon. hamstrings, front & side raises for the shoulders on tue. OH presses & biceps on wed. quads, calves & inner thighs on thur. & glutes & triceps on fri. I also mix up my routine every 4 weeks.

I usually do btwn 3-5 sets anywhere from 8 to 15 reps. when I did my chest on mon. I did chest flys & presses with 30 lbs. so I did 3 sets of 8 reps I thought my chest was going to rip out.

I always work my sets & reps to failure.

As far as eating it would take me a long time to type in everything I eat I usually try to eat every 3-4 hours. I eat a lot of chicken, tuna, eggs, beans, salads, & I have my protein shakes too.

It sounds like you've been working on fine tuning for a long time. I dont' know how long you've been consist w/ the 5 meals - sometimes it takes your body a while to get adjusted to a new change & then to get it to start showing results. And if you are training as well, all of that change plus the training may be showing itself in what you perceive as gained size. Hard to say because it is such an individual thing and also you just need to be patient. To be really honest, I've been lifting for 20 yrs and wasn't able to get significant bodyfat loss until I went into a full blown competition diet at 1475 cal / day, a tight carb rotation schedule and cardio 2x/day. But the thing is, if you stick with the consistent training & diet, when you stop looking for it, the results finally start showing up.
