Who Here Lifts Heavy ALL the Time?

I always lift heavy. I know some people say you should do more reps every three to four weeks to mix it up. But I can't I feel like I am wussing out if I ever do weight where I can get more than 10 reps.

What about ya'll?
 
I'm with you bro...I wlak out of the gym thinking to myself..."did I waste my time?" If I ain't dragging out then I feel I cheated myself...
 
I tend to train heavy most of the time, despite the fact that I know I should periodize more.
 
I've learned to periodize. I just came off Cornholio's Old School Program and decided to shake things up and try a completely different routine. I couldn't get out of bed the next day, I was so sore.
And I was thinking I was a bad ass lifting heavy like that for 10 weeks. I think my muscles had adapted to the Old School program so I switched. Mama mia.......

I think it means changing your routine to get more response out of your body since lifting a certain way for a long time will cause your body to adapt. Switching it uip ensures growth and muscle confusion.
 
I don't consider 10 reps heavy at all. 1-3 is what I would call heavy in my opinion...and no you can't go heavy like that all the time.

I consider heavy less then 6 reps, medium is 6-10, and light is more then 10 reps.

I usually train in the medium range, but I also do plenty of heavy lifting as well, especially on the big compound movements like squat, deads, rows and presses. I'd say my routine is 70% medium and 30% heavy. Calves and abs are the only muscles I train with light weight for high reps.
