Especially after bench press.I will feel presure on my sturnum, and I will have to extend my chest for relief followed by a cracking sound. This is gone on for three years. No biggie, as I keep imroving. X-rays show nothing wrong; however it is something strange that I deal with.

Re

Sounds painful.. Never heard anyone do that. I do crack my back by twisting when I sit down to bench. It's just a habit now.

On the first set of Chest Day,. this always happens to me and I hate it

Mine sometimes does that too, especially after an intense chest day. Has done this for years and up until about a year ago I felt like I needed to pop my chest almost every day...could just feel it needed to be done.

Finally had x-rays done too and low & behold I had a slight break between one rib & my sternum.

Doc said to go light on the presses -- I said F U MOFO!! If it ain't gonna kill me or cause worse injury, then I can deal with popping it.

:fro:

popping n stuff

It's not a bad thing to pop n stuff. If you crack n feel a sharp pain THEN it's a bad thing! ;) . I crack ma lower back to release tension, my sternum , both shoulders etc. It doesn't heard and feels better after. And after all it's just the gas being released from between the joints

Are you bouncing the weight off you chest when you do the bench, it could be that. It could also be that you're resting the weight on your chest. If it's neither of these, I'd suggest you go talk to a doctor. Good Luck!!!
