Who Can Curl The 80's With Good Form?

THE LAST COUPLE BICEP WORKOUTS I WENT UP TO THE 80'S. 60'S, 70'S, AND 80'S WITH GOOD FROM. 10, 8, AND 4 REPS WITH EACH ARM.

I'M AVERAGE IN EVERYTHING ELSE I GUESS BUT FOR SOME REASON I'M PRETTY STRONG IN BI'S. TOTALLY SUPRISED MYSELF CUZ I'M ONLY 210LBS.

If you don't mind me asking, how big are your biceps?

Mine are right on the verge of 17", but I can barely do 60 lbs DB's.

Also how tall are you? I'm 5'9" 190?

80lbs DB are huge, I'm just now benching 90's

I can get the 70's with great form for 6-8 reps....those 80's are heavy though to do in perfect form.
 
THANKS FOR ALL THE COMPLIMENTS GUYS!!! ITS DEFINITELY A MOTIVATION. AT FIRST I DIDNT THINK MUCH OF IT BUT A GUY I KNOW WHAT SPOTTING ME. HE IS PRETTY DAMN BIG AND LEAN AND HE GAVE ME SOME GREAT COMPLIMENTS SO I KNEW IT WAS A SMALL ACCOMPLISHMENT ON MY PART.

CURRENTLY MY BI'S ARE 17.5". THEY USED TO BE 18 LAST SUMMER ('00) BUT I WAS ACTUALLY WEAKER. I'M 6', 210LBS. PROBABLY B/ 10-12% BF. I'M ABOUT AVERAGE IN MOST MOVEMENTS. I WORK UP TO 375LBS ON SQUAT. ON BENCH I WORK UP TO 355 FOR A FEW REPS ON MY LAST SET. NOTHING SPECIAL. EAT LIKE SHIT AND SLEEP LIKE SHIT. THATS WHY I DONT GROW LIKE I AM CAPABLE OF GROWING. I'M PLANNING ON DOING THE 90'S WITH IN A COUPLE MONTHS. HOPEFULLY MY ARMS DONT GET RIPPED OFF AT THE SHOULDERS. LOL

BIG DOG LIVES NEAR ME AND WORKS OUT WITH ME SOMETIMES. I'M NOT SURE IF HE HAS SEEN ME DO THEM RECENTLY BUT I'LL MAKE SURE HE SEES NEXT WEEK.

I FIND THAT IF I SPREAD MY FEET JUST A LITTLE MORE OUTWARD, IT HELPS A DRASTIC AMOUNT. NO ROCKING AND SWINGING. I CANT STAND WHEN SOME GUYS GO IN THE GYM AND ARE DOING BICEPS, BACK, AND LEGS ALL IN ONE CURLING MOTION. THINKING THEY ARE DOING CURLS!!!

I can get the 85's for a couple on each arm but I might swing after 1 or 2. I can do the 80's with good form but I dont really curl for power....I work with the 50's or 55's and try to get the most out of it(but I have started a 5x5 program, so maybe i will work on a little power). Congrats on your lifts...I am sure you'll have those 90's in no time(my long term goal is the 100's for 4 on each arm...I havent seen anyone in my gym do that).

Polish can get the 80's for 4. That is some pretty hefty weight man. I usually work out with 70's. I go 80's when I want to go a little heavier.

No kidding aside. After a set of that I can feel solid pain for 10-15 minutes.

You guys are strong! 80's are a lot. We are talking about perfect form! Props to all of y'all.

I don't spend much time curling, but I know I've done the 60's for some clean reps. I figure staying strict I could maybe get the 70's, maybe not even that....don't know. Never tried

That's where I was at and I just tried it one day. I bet you would suprise yourself. Given your training, you probably would not need strong biceps to be an effective fighter.

I find that hard to believe. You pull fire engines. 80's have to feel like empty lunchboxes to you. lol.

Steeve Reeves used to do the Inclinedb curls with 80';s . I knwo tha during the early-mid 80's Stallone was doing the same.
Kayne is in elite company- pun intended.
I used to do D CC curs withg 80 but couldn't get the same on Inclines-its a harder movement for me- I haven't DB curled in a few years now, so I have no idea. Curently using 110 on one arm cale curls,which is fun, easy to do forced reps on these.

You must have some strong connective tissue brother. That is alot of weight to be using for concentration curls. Kudos to you!

Steve Reeves was an animal in a time of cats and dogs.

Stallone is a manufactured hero. I love him in Rocky and watching his physical progression through the Rocky series is well noted. He is an American steroid afficianado, we all watched him grow.
 
That's some nice work guys. The best I have ever done is the 85's for four each arm. It is impossible to not swing a little as that much weight throws your center of gravity aout of whack. But I definetly don't do reverse hang cleans like a lot of guys do at my gym.

I use 85's for seated curls and the 90's for hammer curls, for sets of 8-10.

My workout partner is using the 95's for both excercises.
 
in my 7 years of training, and 4 or 5 gyms, i have never seen anyone curl 80's. if you can handle 80 pound dumbbells with perfect form, you guys are monsters...and that is saying something, because i'v worked out with some huge dudes who wouldn't be able to do this....i'd like to see it.

Me too man. It is a lot but I bet there is a bunch of honesty here. I could care less otherwise. That is still a lot of weight though!!!!!
