Which is the stronger painkiller ?

Just curious... Which is the stronger painkiller, Valium or Vicodin ?

Valium is used as an anti anxiety med. Vicoden is for pain. Benzodiazapams won't relieve pain except to a very minor extent. Vals are Diazapam and Vics are opiates. Big difference!

valium is more for anxiety but yea it can numb some pain, and it will have a stronger affect on u as far as the feeling of it

Neither. As mentioned above, Valium is an anti-anxiety agent. Vicodin is a narcotic, but far from being the strongest available. Morphine is probably the strongest, followed by Dilaudid, Percocet family (includes Oxy-Contin), and Vicodin family.

This is true but keep in mind that as well as being the strongest- opiates (ie morphine) are also the most addictive, INCLUDING OXY-CONTIN whick is basically synthetis morphine.

Yes the time release...ummmmm......Thie ummmmm part is why I halve to abstene from these type of drugs!

Perdue Pharma doesn't make a 120mg Oxy-Contin..they did make a 160mg pill but that was discontiued last yr..they come in 10,20,40 and 80 mgs

the effect of 12 10/325 perks will not be the same as taking an 120mg. oxy chewed.It will get you high and rid the pain as well but not like an oxy!

I MAYBE LUCKY BUT I HAVE MORPHINE TABS THAT DISSOLVE UNDER MY TONGUE. IT HELPS WITH MY PANCREAS FLAIR UPS. SHIT KICKS BUT LEAVES YA FEELING HUNG OVER. VICADIN THOUGH POPULAR SUCKS.

Morphine is not the strongest analgesic by a long shot. Heroin has twice the mg for mg analgesic potency, fentanyl is a hundred times stronger, with numerous synthetic opioids in between.

It's used primarily during anesthesia. There are analogs like Sufenta that are up to 10 times stronger than fentanyl. These drugs cause much less effect on blood pressure than morphine and are likely to cause a shorter period of respiratory depression. Transdermal fentanyl is prescribed to cancer patients for use when they experience "breakthrough pain" that their morphine is no longer able to suppress.

Fentanyl has made its way onto the street. It is probably not the drug of choice for a wannabe first time junkie.

Demerol has about one-seventh the strength of morphine on a mg for mg basis.
