Which GM is best for increasing Deadlift?

I began training WSB on June 3, 2002.. And have tried everything from 47" wide stance GM's to 36" narrow stance GM's.. I was curious as to which type of Goodmorning has been found to be most beneficial to increasing ones' deadlift poundage... For the past month I did nothing but 36" narrow stance and my dead went from 600 to 635 by week 4 of doing these.. Plus I feel that I was good for another 30 pounds, but I felt a mild strain in my left bicep so I stopped there... So now I'm going to move to a 44" wide stance for the next 3 weeks and then Dead on the 4th ME day to see where I stand....

So what are yalls experiences with your GM's in relation to your Deads? Which GM gave you the best results in your deadlift poundages?

Jdarty, our gym recently came to the conclusion that those of us who pull conventional get the most carry over from bent over/chain suspended GMs at 36 inches with shoulder width stance...just like if you were going to pull.

Those of us that pull sumo see more carry over from arched backs out of the rack, and front squats.

I know this won't answer your question, but like Louie says, there are exercises out there that will add pounds to your deadlift you just have to find them. It sounds to me like you found one with the 36" stance GM's. That is a fantastic improvement in just 4 weeks(at least 35lbs). I think what your doing by trying the wider stance is a good thing, in that whether it helps or not you will know after 4 weeks. At that time you'll be better able to answer your question as to what works for you best.

I'm just curious, what type of GM are you doing, (bent over, arched, suspended, etc...)? What does your training sets and reps look like and poundages used. Wondering what kinda carryover your getting.

Dynamo..I have been doing the Chain Suspended 36" Bent Over GM..

As far as how I pull, I normally pull Sumo with a slighty narrower stance that a normal sumo pull... I am fast off the floor with my sticking spot right at my knees.. So I'm really interested in seeing how altering my GMs for a month will affect my Deadlift... These will still be chain suspended but with my Sumo width Stance at somewhere around 42"-44" inches... Possibly with an arch via Spatts sugestion above.....
