When does the school year start down in the antepodes? Does Christmas come near the beginning of the kids' summer vacation?
up here in the tropics, there are no summer holidays - they give you 6 weeks at christmas time (starting about 2 weeks before christmas) and 4-5 weeks in the middle of the year (late june)

in the southern states where there are actually 4 seasons, summer vacation is from early december until latish feb

school starts in january for primary/highschool but somewhere in mid-late feb for uni students depending on teh institution/orientation week scedule

orientation week = get blind drunk and shag a lot, then wake up in class realising youve bade out with half the class

unfortunately, i had a girlfriend and was a non drinker back then, so i wasnt doing much shagging or drinking.

funny thing is that i go out so much/make out wiht so many girls that i know people on campus at all times, which i find endlessley funny since i train on campus (they have the closest gym) and everyone thinks im still a student

my life = a dream :) ...except right now. im in fucking darwin :( :(

I don't think there's anymore burn in on Plasmas.

Again, you would have to know where the TV will be viewed to know which technology to buy. An lcd is "brighter" and will be better in a bright sunny room with windows etc... BUT the lcd does not generally have good black levels and it shows a slightly grayish tint to their blacks, as opposed to the Plasma and Especially the older RPTV sets which do show good blacks but not so great in brightly lit rooms.

One thing about prices.. They do go down very fast but the new sets are always replcing the old models, so the stores don't really carry last years' model for a HUGE discount. They just have THIS year's model at a minimum discount. That is why going online and finding last years' is a good bet IF you know it would suit your needs. You may not want 6 hdmi inputs which the new one has, but are will to accept 2 inputs for $1000 cheaper and get last years' TV.

Very interesting GL, I'm still listening you guys I haven't forgotten about this, some good stuff here I might even go up to 100,000k ;)

I am moving in about a month but not sure where to so don't know what type of room it will be in yet. Don't worry I'm going to give the K out before then though oololol I know all GL cares about is K (and wife swapping)

burnin's are misconceptionalized... they happen when you leave the channel on for weeks at a time when they have a ticker or something constant. It doesn't happen from day to day use..

But as for some links on here.. if it looks to good to be true it probably is..
With TV's you get what you pay for.

not true..I own thsi TV..just bought it from that site...came via truck last week...

and as fat as you get hwat you pay for...true somewhat but only features...the patents on most of the internals are too new and only made by one or two diff manufacturers..so basically the internals are all the same plus or minus some enhancements made for the price group your in..but nothing that would be noticed by the average consumer...
