What time to do cardio???

Assuming that one is not looking for weightloss, but rather just improve cardiovascular health, what would be the best time to do cardio??

Before breakfast, after breakfast?

I disagree. You're training for size and strength, so I'd rather be doing your cardio with some food in your system. Of course, this does not mean eating breakfast and then IMMEDIATELY doing your cardio. I like to train (any kind) about 1-1.5 hours after a nice meal of about 60% carbs, 40% protein. I need food in my system to work at any decent intensity.

If you are trying to lose lots of weight, early morning on an empty stomach.

But in your case, you are trying to gain/maintain mass. Do it right before or after your workout 15-30 minutes.

AM cardio on an empty stomach is the WORST possible time to do cardio, no matter what kind of shape you're in.

The best time for you to do cardio is in the evenings on days you don't lift. That way, you won't be robbing energy from your workouts. Plus, you will be running after a full day of eating so you don't need to worry so much about catabolism.

I agree with fulmontee44 and gymtime; I incorporate both ideas. Whether I'm performing cardio on non/or on gym days( always after weights never before because it robs the intensity of my preceding workout) the duration is short. To keep everything tight and my mass up( this is to maintain not my cutting routine) I perform 3- 20 min sessions throughout the week.
