What is with these headaches!?

First off, it's great to of finally found this board. It seems there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here!

Anyhow, when I have been lifting weights, I have never taken any vitamin supplements. I never had headaches, and always felt fine while working out, no matter how strenuous my particular routine on a given day would be. I do drink a protein supplement on a daily basis.

Well, I was talking to a buddy the other day, and he recommended that I start taking a multivitamin supplement. So, I went to GNC and picked up the Mega Men multivitamin supplement. Well, the next time I worked out, I got a minor headache. I attributed it to poor breathing performance during my first excercise. The next time I lifted, during the first set on the bench press I got a pounding headache. It faded during the workout, but it stuck with me in varying degrees of intensity. I then got another headache the next time I worked out. I asked the trainers, and they thought that maybe it was poor breathing, but my breathing is pretty good and I never had a problem with it. So, I cut out the multivitamin a day ago. Today, I got another headache while on the first set of the bench press.

So, I talked to a different trainer, and he said if your breathing is good, it is probably dehydration. What do you guys and girls think?

I drink a lot of diet soda, a 16oz. cup of coffee a day, and I sometimes drink this before working out. I don't drink hardly any water, except for when I am at the gym when I drink a lot. Could it be my lack of water combined with the multivitamin which is giving me the headaches? Needless to say, I am drinking water now and am going to attempt lifting tomorrow.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

cant see the multi causing a problem. breathe good and you should be okay. drink more water. drink 2 cups b4 working out and at least a gallon throughout the day yo

doesnt the carbonation in the soda deplete ur oxygen to dissolve it self during digestion or something,im not sure if im stating it right its something i heard

There is your answer. You are not drinking enough water. 70% of our population is chronically dehydrated.

You need to make sure you are drinking about a gallon a day. Get a water bottle that is at least 32oz, and drink four of them a day, everyday.

Diet soda is not good for you at all, I suggest you do everything you can to get off of it. Depending on what you are drinking you are loading up with caffeine which is a diuretic. The coffee is also a diuretic and is drawing water from your body.

DRINK WATER

Peace.
