What fats should I avoid at all costs?

The FDA doesn't require that companies put how much trans fat in the food...at least in Canada.

Here, if you want to find out how much trans fat is in the food.

TransFat = TotalFat - (MonoFat + PolyFat)

Pretty simple. But stay away from anything that says hydrogenated on the side and maybe shortening.

It may seem impossible, but to utilise the full potential of EFAs, there must be an intake of ratio of 1:1

omega3:omega6

Omega 3 is a bitch to find, most of its sources come with mercury =/

Sorry, but you are wrong Red D. Hydrogenated fats are... ::drum roll:: ...still listed as polyunsaturated fats on the labels. They were polyunsatured before the hydrogenation process and thus are still allowed to be labeled as such.

are you serious?? What a bunch of shit!!

Those bastards!
Well the Sat+Mono+Poly != total fat
Take for example these chips ahoy chewies (NOT MINE)

Fat Total
7.8 g

Sat fat
2.7 g
Mono
2.5 g
Poly
0.6 g

Total of Sat/Mono/Poly: 5.8 g

Total fat reported - total normal fat calculated = 2.0 g

Although it's possible those bastards could have snuck some of the trans in the poly...or maybe Canada uses a different system =/. Anyway I think its safe provided that I don't see the word hydrogenation on the side.

Well, honestly I wouldn't worry too much RD. People who care about their bodies wouldn't eat food like that anyway. Anyone who has taken the time to read anything regarding nutrition and bodybuildings knows to avoid, or at least minimize, processed foods. We already know that alot of things we don't want in our bodies are added to them. We are better off just eating natural foods rather than looking through the labels of a bunch of junk food, and refined garbage and trying to figure out how much hydrogenated oil, preservaties or corn syrup are present.
