Good advice Lumberg. Fats that are found in nuts, fish, avocados, and supplements like fish oi and Udos oil are not only "ok," but they actually HELP you get rid of unwanted fat.

Saturated fats and anything hydrogenated can be avoided. If you eat eggs, 1 or 2 yolks is plenty of satfat to help your body balance things, however, the benefits from these types of fat are made in your body anyway. For example, your body makes cholesterol whether you eat it or not.

Here's the bottom line: If you are eating "clean" foods, which I define as foods that have 1, maybe two ingredients, there will not BE any need to avoid these fats because they won't exist. The only thing you're going to find high amount of partially hydrogenated ANYTHING in, is shit food. Go look at your snackwell cookies...

hydrogenated fat is very dangerous...lol its basically companies trying to cut down on transport costs (changing a liquid fat (unsaturated) to a saturated fat through heat and pressure). Trans fat are also carcinogens. These can easily be avoided though, just buy natural stuff. These will lower HDL and raise LDL significantly. Yeah you can find them in snacks but they're also found in preserve conveniance foods like McCain pizza...is that how you spell it?

Saturated is pretty bad but not as bad as transfat (hydrogenated), the worst it'll do is stick to your arterial walls :). These will boost LDL production.

Poly-Mono fats are good. Mono promotes testosterone production and Poly (esp omega 3,6,9) do wonders to your body. They don't stick to your arterial walls since they're liquidy, the double/triple bonds won't allow solidification. Plus they transport fat soluble micronutrients (vitamins A D E K). And they lower LDL and boost HDL (cholesterol types). Basically changes your cholesterol levels like cardio does ;).

I wonder which one is worse butter or margerine =/. Well regardless, I cook my food using olive/canola/sunflower oil...I don't know if the heat changes its molecular structure but I know its a hell of a lot better than butter/margerine.

Oh yeah sometimes they'll be sneaky and put the word 'vegetable oil shortening or some shit like that' watch out for that too

-Monounsaturated fats are great, eat alot of them.

-Polyunsaturated fats are also good, but try to stick with omega 3's, which are probably the best fat to consume. Omega 6 and omega 9 fats are not nearly as beneficial.

-Saturated fat is acutually needed in certain amounts. You need it for testosterone production, and even if you are juicing, cutting it too low will increase shbg levels, thus making less of your juice metabolically active. Its dangers are overated and can be controlled by keeping insulin levels in check and by taking in a healthy amount of omega 3 fats.

-hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats, trans fatty acids. These are what you need to avoid at all cost. They have nevative effects upon your health, plus injesting them may reduce reduce the effectiveness of your fat loss diet. You may notice how plentiful they are once you start looking for them in the ingrediate lists on food packages.
