What Elite Fitness means... Please read this!

Please take a minute to read this. I am posting this with the permission of Needto and am asking that it not be removed.

As a homecare nurse, I see many different patients. There is one I want you all to know about. He is a 19 year old who was paralyzed when the vehicle he was in was hit by a drunk driver on Prom night. Everyone else in the car died. He is unable to do anything but move his head very slightly. We (his parents, myself, theraphy) had been having numerous problems with him cooperating - his depression was so great he didn't want anything or to do anything.

One visit 2 weeks ago he asked me how I lost weight (his speech is very slow and is hard to understand from the brain damage he has suffered) so I told him I belonged to a site called Elite Fitness. We took out his computer and I brought the site up for him to see. He looked, asked ALOT of questions, and seemed like a little boy in a candy store. At that visit I asked him what he thought about EF and his response was not in words but gestures of happiness. I look around his room, full of pictures of himself with a baseball cap on sideways and tons of CD's not being played. That day when I left his goals were to think of an avatar and a screen name.
He is still deciding what his screen name will be & is selecting an avatar but the change in him has been remarkable. His parents are overjoyed with his zeal to get on the computer (using a stick placed in his mouth) he looks for his avatar. I visited today and walked in to see him with his baseball cap on sideways and music playing - a huge smile on his face. A huge smile on his parent's faces!

The whole point of this story is to tell all of you how much life EF has given to this young man. It has given him goals to reach that are fun and are reachable. I spend extra time with him showing him how he can ask a question and get alot of responses, just read what everyone else is posting, and with March Madness - he is crazy about this site.

We all come to Elite for our own reasons but for this young guy Elite has become the start of a new life for him. It has given him hope, it has him excited about the hopes of making new friends and most of all it has helped him face each day with a smile on his face. If only I could tell you where I've seen him at and where he is at now - Elite Fitness has changed this family's life.

As soon as we have him set-up I hope you will all welcome him as a part of the EF family. I've told a few members previously about him & I doubt his family will have to buy a Plat membership or K for him - these members have been kind enough to offer do that for him.
Thanks so much for listening and for allowing myself & my patient to be a part of the Elite Fitness family.

Make sure you let me know his screen name when he signs up. We will give him a comp plat membership. No one has to pay for it the site will be more then happy to give it to him for free..

He can come post on any of the training or aas forums all he likes. I will also make him a member of the New beginnings group. EliteFitness.com Bodybuilding Forums - A New Beginning this would be a great ef group for him to talk with people in. All of the group members have something hard they have to overcome in life. I think he could not only gain from the group but others in the group could gain a lot from him as well.

I think its great that ef is helping all people from all walks of life. This is what ef is all about. Helping people, giving them hope, giving them new life and a new beginning. He has a home here with us and over time he will make many friends here. He already has a friend in me that is for sure.

Tell him I dug this pick up for him since I know he likes the hulk.

wow, EF affects us all in very different ways, hopefully positive for all ^_^ I am very glad to hear that he has found motivation here and hopefully this will help him pick uo interest in many other things so he can have plans and goals that help him keep going, EF has impacted my life one way or another, seeing you ladies and the guys out there getting in shape, eating right, socializing, etc it's helped me want to go more to the gym, want to add 10 more pounds to my work outs, want to eat an apple (eventhough I kinda hate them) instead of a brownie, etc it has made very high improvements in my self control and my will power to do things related to my health and image, the day before yesterday for the first time in my life I got a migraine, I could barely tolerate light, sound and any movement even coughing would cause my head to start pounding, at first I sat in the car while my boyfriend worked out, then I started thinking about how I posted in the chat section that I went to the gym 4 times last week and started thinking I didn't don on Monday and now Tuesday I didn't feel good so I would be going only 2 or 3 days.... so I dragged myself out of the car and managed to do 30 min eliptical/cardio, then I did 50 ab workouts and had to stop because I could feel my heartbeat in my head.... I rested for a while and worked out my legs a bit, yesterday my bf said he wasn't going to the gym, so I told him I would and I'd take the bus home, he decided to go so we both went, if I'd give in like I always do it would be Thursday and I wouldnt have gone to the gym a single day, but my goals have shifted and I want to do things right! So I'm very thankful for EF too :)
