What are your best weighted dip/pullup maxes?

I just got a dipping belt to start a hypertrophy specific routine...did my 15,10 and 5 rep maxes for weighted dips and pullups yesterday, first time i had ever done either...repped 10 dips with 2 45 pounds plates hanging between my legs, only got 10 pull-ups with a 45 pound plate weighing me down a lil...since i never see anybody at the gym using dipping belts, out of curiousity just wanted to know what the freaks and monsters on elite fitness can do...lol...im looking forward to doing these more though, i just need to get a bigger ass to keep the belt from sliding off when i have alot of weight on it!

Overall how many you can do will be determined by the mass you carry. In other words some of the largest guys wont be able to do as many as the smaller. For example, im approx 247lbs and some 150pounder can walk up and kick out 20 reps with a 45 plate yet I cant but if you look at the numbers and sheer mass I am also moving over 100lbs more due to my added mass. Same basically applies to chins too. I may have 2-3 inches on my arms over the smaller buy but some of that will be bone mass, some biceps. In the end what I am getting at is that its difficult to compare strength in these types of exercises by reps and weight added since they variations from people can be so dramatic.

How on earth did you get an accurate 5, 10, and 15 rep max in one day? After I do a max...my body is so taxed that my next set is greatly skewed.

I think that I have done 14 chins (palms away) at a bodyweight of 275-280 before. I can get an easy 8 right now...maybe 11-12 rest pause style.

I've been able to do 10 reps with a 45lb plate for chins, for weighted dips, at a body weight of 225 at the time I did 10 reps with 3 plates and a 10 (145lbs)

yeah those maxes arent accurate, but out of necessity i had to do them all in one day, and considering we did both pull up and dip maxes in the same day, they are especially watered down maxes...for this routine im starting i had to determine 15,10,5 rep maxes for 14 different exercises, and it woulda taken weeks to do that and get a true accurate max for each exercise for each given rep range...personally i dont buy into the 'im massive so i cant do as much as skinny guys' idea, since your added mass should be muscle and should not be a factor...but thats just what us skinny guys say!...lol

At about 180, I've done 8 reps with 35 lbs hanging for chins, 10 reps 80 or 90 lbs hanging for dips. I don't really do either with low reps.

I'm 5'7.5", 198lbs, last back workout I did weighted pullups for 6 clean reps with a 75lb d-bell.

I do dips at the end of my chest workout, so I'm pretty fried by then. I will usually do 90lbs for 8 reps at a bodyweight of 180lbs. I think I might try doing dips first, and see how heavy I can go.

My chins suck, so I won't use much more then a 45 lb dumbell.
