Awhile back someone posted a thread on the guys from westside at the Arnold. Has anyone heard if any of them are hurt bad? Will we see them at any more meets this year? Thanks

hahah...I'm probably the least violent person you will ever meet..hahah

I was referring to ability not propensity. By the way, although I have had a great deal of respect for strongman competitors, I have a lot more now. I recently tried to pick up a 280 lb Atlas stone and could not budge it one millimeter. Is the hardest part of stone lifting getting it off the ground or is it more difficult higher up?

They are not very forgiving at all...but very fun. My first stone at Boston was a 265 to a 69" platform. Was not fun. The heaviest was a 365. Have done a 400 before.

You really need a lot of technique and explosiveness from the bottom. Lots of people can cradle one...but shooting it up high, trying to hold on, lean back, and flip it up onto a tall platform...makes it hard.

I forget what the guys name is, but his nickname is "Stumpy". Anyone see that guy on the World's Strongest Man?? He is like 5'3" and just this little Bulldog-lookin mofo!! He got 4 out of the 5 stones up. I was very impressed because like every platform was over his head.
