way to stressed. . .

the past few weeks i have been finding myself more and more stressed. recently my grandmother who i am very close to got very sick. she had to have surgery on her stomach and had a mass removed. she is out of the hospital, but is very depressed. been fighting with all of my aunts about it. some just don't seem to care about their own mother. the wedding got moved up to april 9th. so now having to replan everything and try to get it all done. been working full-time on nights so seems like i never get to see bbf and when i do we don't get to spend any "real" time together. and on top of everything over the past few months since i haven't been able to workout and my diet has been terrible always having to eat on the run or just being to tired to actually cook. i have gained 20lbs. not what i wanted to see when i steped on the scale the other day when i was getting ready to go try on wedding dresses. i know some of the weight is from getting back on the shot for birth control, but doesn't ease the mind any.

sorry about all of my ranting, but just had to get it out. thanks for letting me vent.

any ideas for quick and healthy weight loss with limited time. i know this is like asking for the meaning of life.

You have about 2 months -- see Shadow's Project stickie. Trying to do some sort of hardcore fat loss program I think would just add to your stress & you might rebound when you come off. Just slow, easy & consistent.

That SOOOO sucks when older family members get sick -- my dad was a family attorney who always came home w/ these ungodly stories about family squabbles over who was responsible for whom, who owed who something, who was slacking & never cared, etc.

I'm so sorry to hear all that esp when you are trying to prepare for YOUR big day. No fair to you at all. I try to take those situations by distilling out all the emotion & write up a list of things or tasks that have to be done anyway and do them, so they don't compound the inevitable emotion. And actually same w/ the diet / training -- MAKE time for yourself -- if even just a little -- because if you aren't 100%, you can't give 100% to anyone else.

Good thoughts & karma to you tho

And please feel free to rant here if it helps -- that's what we're here for hun!

What where is BBF in all of this....he knows how to get the weight off! Take care of yourself. You don't want to get sick on top of it all

<~~~BBF... I didn't bother to log her out. Anywho thanks GG. She doesn't listen to me completely, however starting yesterday she finally switched to diet dr.pepper. Her diet has gotten better, but she hasn't worked out, she still was drinking a ton of soda, she was on prednizone for her aesthma and is on a birth control depot. Bad environment, from every hormonal aspect.

1) Excessive insulin response from the sugar (this means you gain fat)
2) The high intake of high fructose corn syrup in the soda can reduce total thyroid output (this means you gain fat)
3) Prednizone can cause increased fat diposites and most of lbm (which slows down the metabolism further).
4) Elevated estragen levels from the depot. This would not be a big deal with a clean diet, but it makes adipose tissue more sensitive to insulin...which is being producing in large amounts by the soda.

If she simply cuts the sodas out completely and switches to diet, and gets to the gym just twice a week, she could drop 20 lbs by the wedding.... and if she remembers to take her fish oil tabs.

Easy.

The pred is probably doign a lot of bloating & I have yet to hear anything good about depo.

Clean out the diet, establish a regimen that doesn't allow room for panic eating and maybe consider a different b/c. Drink MORE WATER. CUT OUT THE SODA. Give your body a chance to take care of itself -- w/ all that shit in there it's going crazy trying to figure out how to deal w/ the stress.

big hugs & prayers for both you guys -- that isn't the right way to start a life together.

I'm sorry things are so stressful for you right now!!! Congrads on the wedding tho, hope your grandma gets better and you do better as well. I understand hard times!! But the unhealthy diet can make it a little worse. Hope this doesn't sound silly but, try to be a little selfish when you feel like it. Ultimatley your the only one who can make yourself happy again! Have you tried yoga (for the meditation and relaxation) might release all the negative feelings, for at least a little while, plus its good for your body! Good luck hun.

Best Wishes :rose: :rose:
