and other Soviet bloc nations. Man the talent was so good in the 70s and 80s from the USSR, East Germany, Poland, Romania, etc.

Nowadays they look like amateurs, I've never seen so many skaters fall down.

Sure it was drug-enhanced and kids were forced to train from infancy, but it was sure fun to watch.
