I am not sure if you guys have one of these in your gym, but for the past two weeks this little guy maybe 155lbs started going to my gym. I am not huge 5'9 219lbs 33" waist. Everyday he come up to me and say you should try this or do it this way! I don't even know his name he is about 18 Chinese (nothing ament bad by that just describing him)and just started. Well today I snapped. I was doing Bis and I usually rest for about 45-60 secs between sets (not sure that is right but it works for me) and this little prick comes back over to me and says you shouldn't rest between sets once you finish go over to do cable curls. I just said yea and went about my bus. After I finished my next set he say get up and do like I advised it works better.
I stood up and looked down at him and said look I appriciate the advice but when I see you start putting on some muscle and you are bigger than me then I might take your advice but until then stay away from me.
He said whatever and grabbed his bag and left. I kind of felt bad for the kid but hell he kept on and on. I t was like he was saying I am better than you and know more. ANyway just wondering if you guys run into this.

lol, dont feel bad. u were a lot nicer than i would have been. what does he think u have never done supersets before or what. i would have told the little bitch too fuck off.

Not usually because not to be conceited or anything but when i was on full steam people would gather and watch. I go to a large state university (26,000) undergrads and two campuses but one time i was doing tricep pushdowns. I mentioned to my buddy i was working out with at the time there isn't enough weight on the stack and i need a dumbbell. Well this kid happened to be standing there and was saying well you wouldn't need a db if you did them right. Then he started going on and on and i said i'll take that into consideration. He walked away and then started again. I said hey listen until you gain about sixty pounds, and bench twice your bodyweight save it for someone who cares but have a nice day with a smile. Damn rookies in the gym need to learn somehow you know? lol

I've had people say the ever popular, "You squat to deep" to me once or twice. I usually don't offer much advice in the gym. Unless somebody looks like they want help or actually asks me, then I do put in my two cents worth. I try to stay pretty focused on my work. About the only suggestion I can think of would be to tell your trouble maker to focus more on his workout and less on what others do.

You did the best you could. Maybe better than a lot of people would have handled it.

Once somebody in the gym asked me as I was getting ready for rack pulls "Do you mind if I change the music, sir?" I was laughing too hard after that to make my lift. It was too damn funny. I ain't old enough to be called sir normally, but the weight I was using I guess did it. Fuck me it was funny.

Yeah I can use weight more than other people, but alot of guys would call my maxes light warmups, so it is all relative. I respect hard work in the gym regardless of poundage, but I train my way. If they want to butt in, they better be prepared to deal with rejection. I try not to be rude, but like you I can only handle so much. According to the big book of gym ettiqutte, he was being a dick. So just ignore him like you would anything below the waist in the locker room.

He probably fancied you, but there are people like that everywhere. However, an individual doesn't have to look like the Hulk and lift like a gorilla to be knowledgeable of training. I've seen big guys who can probably get bigger with proper form, but never say anything about it because it's none of my business and I'm a woman. Somehow, men would rather listen to the guy next to them than to a lady that has been studying and learning fitness for 14 years.

damn.. i would never try to give advice to someone bigger then me...
but i have had expierence with peeple that dont kno anything trying to tell others what to do,.
