All depends who's around you though doesn't it. Looks like there were only a few other old people on that bus. You'd be a bit stupid to intervene on a gang who for all you know could be carrying a weapon. One reason why i wouldn't use public transport.

I was stunned at the dude who took two shots to the face and all he did was sit down and cry... He looked to be pretty good sized, healthy.

French are VERY anti-violence. They equate it to being as low as an animal. 'Course this mentality (which I DO admire) leaves them open to such acts.

I also found it very interesting that the only people who even tried to say ANYTHING were WOMEN. Truth be told I would have kept my mouth shut and moved away, gotten off as quickly as I could then called the police from my cell. 'Course I am just one small female.

I find it APPALLING that these people get away with this kind of thing. I mean, for goodness sakes - it was all caught on video. Apparently they do not fear retribution for such behavior.

It gets more interesting. The guy who got beaten up eventually made a press release and it was bizarre. The gist is that it wasn't a hate crime, he deserved to get beat up because he was dressed like a bourgeois Frenchman, and that the people who attacked him were not minorities. The guy attends a socialistic French school and the press release actually came from the school. It was like they wrote it for him. George Orwell couldn't have come up with a more fucked up situation.
