Veggies while dieting? which ones?

I'm try do shed like 12lbs of BF. and ive been eating a half of a cabbage a day for my vegtable? is this ok?

or is there better veggies to eat instead of cabbage?

Um dude like there are so many. Go for low glycemic carbs doncha know?
Like
Yams
Sweet Potatoes
Frozen Peas
Broccoli (a bodybuilders favorite)
Lettuce
Carrots are rather high on the index so you might want to stay away from them.
Fruits low on the index are:
oranges
grapes
pears
apples
kiwi
plums
peaches
grapefruit
cherries

yea im just doing a low carb diet......I just came off of chemo and its been a year since i last lifted so this is my first week back into the gym and i gained about 12-15lbs of BF and lost almost 35lbs of muscle from the chemo and prednisone. so im just trying to get back into the routine....my kidneys are on the fritz so i cant take any supplements like juice or even protein powder.....
so i got to do this all natural.....but im really looking forward to it!

here is my diet
basiclly 5-6 small meals a day i have a lettuce wrap for breakfast which is 2 pieces of lunch meat onions and green pepper.

then lunch i have a 4-5" sub with a chicken breask lettuce and onion.

then another little letuce wrap

then the same sub as before but half the size

then lettuce wrap

then 10pm last little small lettuce wrap


and thats it really? got any suggestions???????

that's a fine veggie..

I like green beans, brocolli and maybe some celery...

Sounds like you are trying to cut down before you bulk up. Good way to go. You did not mention if you were taking any omega 3,6,9 essential fats. Make sure that you get some in your diet daily either by using olive oil and or eating some fish like salmon or trout. Sardines in olive oil are a good source too. When on a low carb diet you should supplement with some folic acid as well. Shoot for 400 mcg a day. I am on a low carb diet myself, however I allow 1/2c oatmeal in the morning and 60 grams fast acting carbs after my workout using Recover X by Muscle link. I allow a cheat day on Saturday to restore my glycogen store with low glycemic carbs throughout the day.

yea i cook my chicken in a little olive oil and I try to add flax oil to my morning shake. I think today i'm going to head out to the store and by some brocolli, thanks for the help everyone!
