i agree. diet lemon coke tastes like bathroom cleaner, diet lemon pepsi is much sweeter which counteracts the lemony taste.

im a soda guru here.....if its diet ive tried it.

yeah but a lot of the time they'll drink it while eating.and they eat all kinds of shit like burgers, pizza etc

ah ok I thought you were wondering why so many ef ladies liked it.

I think with a lot of people it's habit - they are used to ordering diet cokes on their own, so they don't think when in McDs etc.
Usually I just dirnk diet coke even when cheating or taking a day off eating clean, as I have a stash of 2-litre bottles handy all the time, if I bulk buy them I get money off at my local branch of Iceland (2 bottles for the price of one, 3 for the price of 2, it varies).

One exception is eating really hot spicy food like curry. Then, actualy sugar is the best way of getting rid of excessive chilli heat - hence a small glass of real coke is better than a gallon jug of water for the occasional overheating mouth (and considering the number of carbs in your average takeout, it makes no difference, mmm curry is my fav cheat dinner..).
