Unlimited green veggies question

I've been reviewing some of the diet threads trying to tweak mine and I have a couple of questions regarding veggies. Specifically broccolli, brussells sprouts, green beans & salad greens.

I still have to count all the calories and carbs for the amount of green veggies that I eat correct? So "unlimited green veggies" is unlimited until you potentially hit your calorie max for the day right?

 
^^ Personally I measure ALL the foods I eat via Fitday......veggies & all.....Veggies don't add much to the carb/calorie count however & I also am tracking my fiber, so I want to add the veggies to make sure the fiber number is up......
 
No unlimited means eating as many of those veggies as you can get down. Green veggies are great for you, high in vitamins and minerals, and fiber. And they are alkaline which help to balance out your acid foods (meat).
 
Que I don't worry to much about them..just log them into fit day so it can figure into my daily totals...they won't kill you, just good to keep balance...

Has a really good point!!! I always thought you could eat unlimited veggies b/c its just fiber so technically your body does not absorb it and store it as fat...I was under the impression that it just kind of "GOES THROUGH" you... a filler upper???

Does anyone know if eating too many veggies can be bad???

Depends on what they "do" to you.....cuz eating a LOT of broccoli could cause one to, erm, clear a room.... :lmao:
 
I'm a vegaholic - I would rather eat veggies than meat.

Jens - I have Beano for broccolli days :FRlol:

I track everything I eat in fitday but I limit my veggies due to carbs/calories etc.

I have IBS - I track my fiber so that I get at least 25g per day. It helps keep the pipes in working order.


So if I understand this right I could eat as much green veggies as I want and even if I went over my daily calorie total because of veggies (not something else) then it would be ok and I shouldn't flog myself?
