TRIAC and other similar products?

Question...

Why has TRIAC and other similar products been banned and recalled by the Food and Drug Administration? They say it "may cause stroke or MCI" but they list no actual negative events with this product. The FDA REALLY doesn't like TRIAC because they keep banning any product with similar constituents... why? What has happened for them to ban this product?

I ask because I've seen something similar (will probably be banned soon) being sold and would like to know if this is as dangerous as the FDA claims. (I tend not to trust anything they say, so I came here ;) ) If it won't give you a stroke ( :p ), is it worth taking? Has anyone tried TRIAC or a similar product?

Thanks.

Peace

The product is called Tiratricol. I found it at ask4mass.com. Go check out the site.

So, has anyone tried TRIAC or a related product? Any reports? Good or bad. Did you have a stroke like the FDA claims you will? :D

Peace

Nor-ephedrine is the problem. Supposedly linked to a few strokes. Original Triac had a form of thyroid hormone that was about 1/4 as potent as synthroid or T4. It was causing hyperthyroidism in those that took quite a bit so they considered it a drug and pulled it. Usinic acid may cause DNA damage, so they may pull it as well.

Like I posted on the men's board a few days ago. A govt website was citing GHB as the most popular anabolic steroid used today by young people and that anabolic steroids were club drugs with sedative and euphoric like properties. Yes, anabolic steroids.

This whole situation has gotten completely out-of-control. Can't believe anything anymore. Sure there may be some health concerns in some people, but this whole thing is more politically driven than anything else today.

It's best to always do a medline search on a substance and form your own conclusions.

Hawk, I would assume that it is alot of hype. There are people that have adverse reactions to every drug out there whether it is OTC or prescription doesn't make it any worse. I know someone that can't take Tylenol.:( :( I think it just depends on the person. I would assume that the stuff you are referring to is similar to T3 or T4 and if taken as directed and maybe tailoring it to suit you, you will not have any problems. The only think with that is YOU will have to use trial and error you know be your own guinea pig. :) I have had MANY people tell me not to take thermogenics (fat burners) and that I will have a stroke. Well, I am still here:) Well, this was just my .02
