ok this hypertrophy specific training has people hitting the muscle like 3 times a week. doggcrapp hits the muscles 2 and three times a week

on hst method you dont always train to failure

dc method you train to failure

so how bout this method

what about hitting a muscle 5 or 6 times in a week withought ever going to failure

because we all know that all u need is STIMULATION to grow and not necessarily breakdown right?

like example, working the chest

day one do 225 on flatbench for a set of 10 when you KNOW you can do 2 more reps

day two do 210 on incline bench for a set of 6 when you know you can do 2 more reps

day three do level 8 on cable flys for a set of 12 when you know you can do about 1 more rep

day four rest

day 5 do something like day one but increase 5 pounds............................

and so on

and so on

rest

have they done studies on something like this?

I personally don't think you would be overloading the muscle enough with this method to force it to adapt and therefore grow.

Some people using HST have actually performed a cycle with everyday lifting. They find it generally results in pretty fast muscle growth, but they need to keep very very low volume in order to avoid burnout.

There is a subtle difference that should be noted...

Both HST and DC training subscribe to low volume and high frequency.

The HST standpoint on frequency is the following: Studies have shown that the timeframe for muscle growth is about 36-48 hours. So HST has you load a muscle again right at that point, regardless of whether or not you're sore or slightly tired from last time. The goal is to keep all muscles in a constant state of growth.

DC training frequency is based on the following: the recovery of voluntary strength (CNS recovery). This seems to result in the frequency of training being different for different people. The goal is to be able to train as frequently as possible while still increasing weights.

The type of training you've described could work. If you were training to failure it would be guaranteed NOT to work. You would basically need to start submaximally with the weights, a la the 5x5 method or HST, and then ramp them up over the course of 3-4 weeks. You would want to use weight increments bigger than 5 though...maybe 10 for upper body compound stuff, 15-20 for lower body. Oh, and eat like a herd of elephants. :D The gains would be mind-boggling though.

ive read where ed coan-holds the record for the highest powerlifting total with like 1000 pound squat 901 dead and 600 or so bench

i heard he only does ONE or maybe TWO worksets! but he does in on a periodaztion scheme

the way i figure my routine is NOT to tax the CNS just give your body the stimulation

but then again im not a powerlifter, im a bodybuilder. so i dont know if i should try something like this

and right now is not the time for me to be exactly stuffing my face full of food either becuase spring is almost here!

traini gmultiple times per week is beter for strength- it proven. look at westside guys and most powerlifter, olympic athletes etc....
but they also have better recuperation methods than the average person, ie massage daily, drugs etc....

it would be good to gain strength, as for hypertrophy, i dont know

I do something kinda like that, but not really. for my arms, I use bands every day of the week... 3 sets of around 25 reps for both bis and tris... keeps them active all week, but there isn't really a possiblity of overtraining them.

It gives them a constant type of pump... and i think that will help them to grow.

yah, thats obviously AR, which is good for strength and hypertrophy
