Training For Martial Arts

Alright, I figure this would be the best place to make my post. You see, I don't want bulk at all. I want to generally just gain strength and the slightest bit of bulk. I wanted to know what the best way going about doing this would be. Alot of guys on the training boards claim 5x5 set/rep routines work extremely well, but I feel that to fatigue muscles doing that, I must use a much heavier weight, and I was told when I was younger that heavier weight, means more bulk, but I've never seen this proven.

Case and point, can anyone give me a good program to go by, for training for martial arts? I'm imvolved with Kenpo right now, and just figure it'd be best if I ask you guys about this. Thanks.
