Tomato sauce, as a flavor enhancer?

I can't stomach the taste of tuna with out having some sort of zero calorie condiment on it to cut the taste. Lately, chicken breast have been bugging me too.

I was thinking of taking some fresh tomatoes, puree'ing them up, maybe adding some garlic and other spices, and then just using this concoction to add some zing to my everyday body-building foods.

Good for BB"rs? Will the tomatos be clean calories, and can I feel free to be liberal with the sauce?

from fitday.... looks like 1 cup of fresh cooked tomatoes is approx 14 grams of carbs with 2 grams of fiber... also over 600mg of potassium....... less than one gram of fat, approx 2 grams of protein

basically... IMO there are worse things to add than tomato sauce, but, as you can see, going overboard can still be a lot of additional carbs

I will say this post got me thinking... Im a rather good cook and I like making home made pasta sauce... so im going to puree up some tomatoes and make my own sauce instead of using the PREGO i usually use, which has quite a bit of sugar in it.

If you are gonna make it from scratch seems like at the very least you can control exactly how many calories you are taking in

exactly..almost all tomato sauces ive ever seen are loaded with a ton of extra sugar..if you make the sauce on your own it is 100% fine..
