To those who have read "Chemical Pink"...

I saw this and had mixed emotions.... I liked the book, cornball and perverse as it was, but can't help but believe that a movie would do the public's perception of female bodybuilding or bodybuilding in general much good...

Rumors about "Chemical Pink", the novel about the world of female bodybuilding by Katie Arnoldi, have been floating around and it's been confirmed that the book will be made into a film.
Chuck Palahniuk, the author of "Fight Club" had the following to say when
interviewed by Jo Wijnsma recently. Palahniuk would be writing the adaptation of the novel for the big screen.

"David Fincher (Director of "Fight Club", "Seven" and "The Panic Room")and I have talked about doing Chemical Pink, which is a dark novel about female odybuilding. I think Fincher is hemming and hawing about Mission Impossible 3. I know he has the option. I think he got the option and put the deal together with me as the screenwriter. Our agents have talked about it. I tried to tell David that I've never written a screenplay before. He seems fine with it."

It should be interesting to see who they cast for the female bodybuilder roles. We'll keep you all abreast of things as we hear them.

I read it. I liked it even though it was kinda cornball the way she writes. What was strange is that the main character reminds me so much of a close friend of mine. I can only see a film causing great problems for women's bodybuilding. It only takes a little nudge and you'll get Orin Hatch and others holding useless hearings on women's bodybuilding and (gasp) drugs!
