I just started a new diet, the diet was suggested to me by an ex comp. body builder and comp. trainer that I work with, who trained under John Parrillo.

protein intake = LBM x 1.5

and that is only 15% of total daily calories

65% carbs, all clean, no breads, pastas, starches, fruits, milk, etc...

20% fat

So far, all my carb sources have come from oatbran, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, reg. potatos, and brown rice.

I haven't gotten fat calipers yet, so I am only estimating my LBM (200 lbs., estimating bf at 20%).

I had previously been taking in maintenace cals trying to loose fat, and although I had been getting leaner, I was getting discouraged by the lack of muscle growth (obviously wasn't going to grow much on a cutting diet).

It's been hard getting all that food in, and although I have gained some pounds and I am sure, some fat, my muscles feel fuller and I have increased strength at the gym. Cardio in the mornings is a must and workout 3 times a week in the evenings. I need the fat calipers to keep track of my progress, I am supposed to check myself every week and adjust exercise/food intake accordingly.

if fat goes up, cardio goes up
if LBM goes up, calories go up (need more food to maintain more muscle)

Although I do feel a bit scheptical, right now, because of the high calorie intake, my co-worker assures me that, if I do this with strict dedication, i will start to loose fat and increase LBM. I am going to give it a shot for about 8-12 weeks.
