THrow away your damn muscle magazines....

They are useless for good training advice and will only try to sell you a bunch of worthless products. Train hard, eat smart, rest more, good night.

True dat.

There are a few good ones out there, Powermag for example...and Mind & Muscle Power used to be good but I think it's out of publication as of now. Weightrainer magazine looks promising, only time will tell.

But all the popular ones suck.

what will i read when i do my hour cardio???? i need the fluff to keep me from thinking that i have 35 min left to go when i already feel like giving up :)

OK

Kind of agree. But I like to keep up on the latest buzz in the business. At a minimum you should never pay for them. Jeff Eversons Planet Muscle gives you a free subscription. Apply on their website. Some of the others I've just sent an email and asked for a complimentary copy. I usually just tell them I'm thinking of subscribing but want to check the mag out first. They usually comply. I just go from one to another. There are enough mags out there that it will take a couple of years to get back to the first one you requested. Then you request it in your wifes name.

I believe everything written in Flex and MuscleMag, they speak nothing but the holy unalterable truth! To say that those magazines would ever give advice on buying supplements that is not 100% accurate is blasphemy!

hardgainer (yes, I am dripping with sarcasm)

Yeah, they are pretty useless if your looking for anything really substantial above a beginner level. However, I do like the pics and some of the gossip about the pros.

WHAT?????

I think Flex is the best magazine ever! Because of it my strenth goes up all the time! Sure some of its advice is crap , but some of it is awesome!

Actually...

To label all magazines as crap that should be thrown away borders a little on the "don't confuse our loud-mouthed antics with training knowledge & exercise science", HIT Jedi fanatical side. Granted alot of the advice isn't great there are indeed some very interesting training concepts & information to be gleaned from them. They are bad for rank beginners but they can be extremely valuable for the advanced intermediate who knows how to seperate the wheat from the chaff.

I subcribe to FLEX and it fuckin sucks now. They adaptod the natural approach, not just natural, but its like their trying to attract the public, and tell them what they want to hear, not the truth. At least a few years ago, they use to mention steriods, and other hardcore topics, but now its like a fuckin teenage or even 10 year old reader magizine. I can't believe how far down its gone.

Musclemag is ok, at least last time I saw it which was like 6 months- a year ago. The chicks in their are hot, and at least they are hardcore. Yea, they still have alot of bullshit in their, but some columns are ok, and at least its funny and entertaining.

Muscular Devolopment is good to browse through at the newstand, but thats about it.

I haven't seen any of the other ones for along time so I can't give a feedback on them.

Yeah muscle magazines FUCKIN SUCK!! I have read them forever and gained absolutely nothing AT ALL from them what a big waste of money on huge guys all roided out giving their overtraining streroid pumping routines. :o:o

Sure the magazines suck but may i recommend a book, 'Chris Ryans SAS fitness book', he's an ex SAS soldier who knows his shit.

Magazines were the way I learned about bbing to begin with! Without them, I would have had no clue what to do. Bodybuilding is not an objective science -- everyone has their own opinion and their own experience. Different people react differently to things based on genetics. But I am still an avid reader of them in my quest to learn more. I have been training for five years, and I fear that unless I get new ideas, I will plateau. Nobody knows everything, and the magazines can suggest new ideas. You take bits and pieces from what magazine articles say (which aren't the final word), and form your own opinion on it.

Of course, I'm talking about the real fitness magazines, not the pretty boy magazines -- "Men's Exercise", "Exercise for Men", etc., although they have pretty good advice on grooming. "Muscle and Fitness" is my favorite, along with "Muscle Media", "Ironman", and a couple of others. Regarding "Flex": Just like the renowned researchers at the Ivy League university that I attended, being good at something doesn't necessarily mean you can teach it well. Most of the pros that write for "Flex" are terrible writers.

If you haven't picked up a magazine in a while, try it! It's almost as good as reading this board!

i love them - especially MuscleMag. They have such insightfull information on their supplements and how they're as good as AS! Pretty soon with their help I'm going to look just like greg kovacks and it will all be do to MuscleTech and MuscleMag. they would never lie to me ----------- would they?

I dont know bro.. in my opinion MuscleMag is horrible, Flex is a waste of your money, Muscle & Fitness sucks, I could go on and on. Wasting your money and just reading about information thats horrible. Muscletech this and Muscletech that. :o:o

So you know... Daeo has been using that pic for a long time now. If you don't know who I'm refering to, check anabolex, AF, or the anabolic board here at EF. If you going to use it, at least get the high quality one, the low resolution of that pic is killing my eyes.

Anyway, Mags Suck - Bags (of Dbol) ROCK!
