Biggest surprises:
Chicago Cubs- one of the worst teams last year, in the running for the playoffs this year.
Philadelphia Phillies- same as above
Minnesota Twins- same as above, lowest payroll in the league, getting it done with good fundamentals, good coaching.
Seattle Mariners- after losing Griffey JR., Randy Johnson, A-Rod, and Jay Buhner being hurt all year, in the running to break the all time record for wins.
Biggest Dissapointments:
New York Mets- after a world series apperance last year, they have been about 10 games under 500 consistently all year.
Colorado Rockies- Signing Mike Hampton, Denny Nagle and a few others, looked like a solid team, but they fold again.
Texas Rangers- "big doses, small results"
