Theory questions for vets

Recently I have noticed that many of the Westsiders and strongmen have gotten really strong and big quick compared to their bodybuilding compatriots. I mean shit these guys lifts keep going up at outstanding rates, not that that is a bad thing;)

My question is that these guys and gals (Spatts) do you think that training a bodypart lets the CNS system have too much time to recover and lose some of its edge. When I lift once a body part every six days I feel strong but not 'primed' or coordinated. But it seems you guys lift those bodyparts, not neccesarily those lifts, more than once a week. Do you think this attributes to powerlifters and strong man/women athletes getting so strong and being so neuromuscularly efficient? Do you think by doing a bodypart more than once a week in a less volume workout, but with more emphasis on speed and form would one gain faster in size and explosive strength??? All feedback is welcome.

I dont know if you have been keeping up with DC's training thread, but that seems to be the logic behind his workout, not only are you able to grow faster this way but you avoid some of the muscle atrophy that occurs from waiting 6-7 days to workout again. Not to mention the emphasis on controled lifts with explovise movement. I just started this kind of training and it makes sense to me. Hopefully it will work.

You can train bodyparts and movements more than once a week.
Percentages/volume can be adjusted so constant progress can be achieved with out overtraining.

Powerlifters look at movements not body parts.......And in terms of recovery, performing a dynamic movement at a low percentage (50%)
72 hours after a maximal movement will not hamper the recovery. The load is so light and involves a different pattern of movement......so its not like you are training the bench press heavy twice a week. (most) powerlifter avoid fatigue so there for recovery (read:progress) is much eaiser
