First -big girls rock imo, now that's out of the way, Spatts-if it's the USAPL (which it sounds like it is) they test and only single ply poly gear is allowed (unless there has been a change ) they go by IPF rules and are overly strict imo. I believe in fair judging, but all the bad stuff you hear from smaller fed's and their relaxed rules the IPF fed's go to the other extreme and ends up screwing over the lifter most of the time. I've seen rock bottom squats turned down on depth, pauses held longer than 2 seconds and lifter's red lighted-and refusal to tell them why. On the good side if you can lift in their meet and win everyone knows your lifts are the real deal.

That's pretty much the way it was. Knee wraps and single ply suits plus singlets were allowed. Many lifts looked good and the contestant got 2 or 3 red lights. Other times it looked screwed up and they got all whites. The most athletic looking group to me was the 165 and 181. The 198 and SHW were mostly fat women, but plenty strong.

Honestly, the best reason to avoid the 198's is Becca Swanson. Sweetest girl in the world, but damn her total is OUTRAGEOUS!!!She's enough reason to diet down to the 181's. lol

...but then there's Jill Mills in the 181s. Damn.

I am surrounded with motivation.

I was there! I competed in the 148's. Placed 2nd behind the awesome Priscilla Ribic, but put up some good numbers for me.

Squat - 396
Bench - 209
Deadlift - 424
Total - 1030

Went 9 for 9 as well.

I thought the reason SHW's male and female were fat was that since BW doesn't matter, any attempt at dieting can lead to muscle loss? The SHW OLers are the same....
