Is being held in my town today and tommorow. I don't suppose there will be anyone from Elite there? I am going to take some pics, I will post them later. Two time Super Heavy weight world champ Brad Gillingham is making a guest appearance.

Definitely keep me posted. I'm not competing again until Feb 22nd. Try to make note of the 181 and 198 pound class. ;)

Is this tested and is equipment allowed?

Spatts I will pay special attention to those classes, and I am taking notes right now to get answers to your other questions. I'll leave in about 45 min so shoot any other questions you may have.

This meet is a lot of fun. It is the first one I've attended in-person. I had no idea the judges were so strict on form. There were a lot of disappointed athletes who thought they made the lift but didn't go low enough or extend their arms or whatever.

Today was the smaller weight classes, tommorow is the big girls!

"big girls..."

:lmao:

I've heard that somewhere before.

I love the "big girls", in fact I married one. :)

I think tommorow's competition, wt class 132 and higher, will include a lot more serious and experienced athletes compared to today. I certainly got that impression from some of the amazons I saw in the hotel.

First -big girls rock imo, now that's out of the way, Spatts-if it's the USAPL (which it sounds like it is) they test and only single ply poly gear is allowed (unless there has been a change ) they go by IPF rules and are overly strict imo. I believe in fair judging, but all the bad stuff you hear from smaller fed's and their relaxed rules the IPF fed's go to the other extreme and ends up screwing over the lifter most of the time. I've seen rock bottom squats turned down on depth, pauses held longer than 2 seconds and lifter's red lighted-and refusal to tell them why. On the good side if you can lift in their meet and win everyone knows your lifts are the real deal.
