The school that wants to ban back packs...

Hey guys, I remember seeing on the news here in D/FW a week or two ago about a school that is going to ban back packs being carried during the school day. They say that the halls are crowded enough, and back packs just make it more jammed. Upon arriving at the High School, you'd have to put your bag in your locker, and come get your books when you needed them.

This doesn't really concern me since I'm out of HS, but I'm curious. They are basically just saying that the bags, combined with the people take up too much mass. Every person is entitled to the same amount of space, right. I would go to the schoolboard and tell them to measure the largest person at the school, find out how much area mass he takes up, and then allow the other students to do the same :) Or it would just be me defying them again...

You have way too much time on your hands. Go back to the arcade and get sexed up.

Do away with homework!......they could keep the books in the classrooms :) ........take the coke and candy machines away..........and of course you could sell some kids to a overseas freak ===more room!

LOL!!! I cook my stuff up the night before....

Question: What if the largest person gains weight or a new student transfers in? Will they have to re-measure every couple of weeks?

Would this be done by mass or by volume?

Maybe there could be a scale at every doorway that they could use to weigh themselves prior to entering the classroom...

Perhaps the horizontally gifted students could have separate times to change classes, or even their own end of the school?

Then you've got the rights of fat people being violated. They can't carry books around because they're pudgy. Also, the parents might not be too pleased that their chunky child is getting measured all of the time.:bawling:

Skinny kids will have an unfair advantage in the school because they'll have every book, all of the time.

These are just some things to consider...

for some reason when I read this thread I thought it said they were going to ban pants. I thought I was going to be moving for a second there...

thats funny
i read about something like that a while back, but my school was the opposite

we didnt have lockers. who the fuck thought of that one?
some classes had a set of books everyone used, but then what if you were required to take a book home to study or do extra work? well, then they did this retarded "let's number the books" and take inventory daily of the motherfucking books

except then people just memorized the numbers and kept/lost books at will, as long as they had the "number" to call out.

and that was high school. how sad is that.

My school was thinking about doing that years ago. But it was a safety issue. I hard of some schools allowing kids to use only see through backbacks so you couldnt conceal any weapons. Along with taking up space they get in your way and people would be tripping over them in the aisles and stuff in class. It isnt a bad idea, just very inconvient(sp)??

They did this at my school

The assholes actually banned school bags from being carried in school during school hours. We have to be in homeroom at 7:45am and school bags are not allowed to be seen after that until 2:30pm or for the students in work study they can get it whenever they leave.

Its horse shit. They say its for space, blah blah blah, but in reality they're just paranoid that Timmy the freshmen who is picked on is going to shoot up the entire school or that Freddie the local dealer is going to bring his cocaine into school to make a deal. They try to make all these rules to prevent a school masacre, but they're really just making the day a pain in the ass. If someone is sick and demented enough to want to masacre a school then they're going to do it. Whether its by poisoning the lunch or by strapping a bomb to their chests and setting it off during lunch or whenever.

Whats next? Ban school bags all together? Maybe we should all just get a belt and tie that around our frigging books from now on like they did back in the day. Well then maybe the same sick fuck is just going to carve the insides of a book out and hide the guns in there until its time for them to do whatever the hell they plan on doing.

[I'm done my rant now}

At my high school in Indiana (I have since moved) backpacks were banned as well. It was a school of about 1200 and no one was permitted to wear a backpack during school hours. You could wear one to and from school but that was it. It sucked but I believe it created a beter atmosphere. The bad thing was running back and forth to the locker...i fuckin hated it.

There are plenty of schools that have banned backpacks, even before the whole school shooting issue came into play.

:afro:

Where do they expect the kids to hide their assault weapons when they storm the school in a mad shooting rampage?

Dammit.....or where are they going to hide the vodka, bongs and other drugs?

School these days....(sigh)

I'm just grooving on this new smilie....
