the progression of my bar

i have all the pieces to the bar in my house now. the bar is still disassembled as my basement isn't ready for it yet (and won't be until august, must finish grandmother's house first). the 4 chairs were strapped to my roof for the ride back home sunday. 2 1/2 hours of 70-75mph wind took a beating on them, and all the stuffing from the bottom either came out or migrated into the back part of the chair. now i've got to restuff them. if you sit on them, the 4 screws holding the bottom to the base will puncture the material. the chairs swivel too. kinda cool.

the bottle rack lights up. i thought that was awesome.

just took invintory of all the alcohol i have at this moment.

Canadian Club - 4 bottles
Canadian Mist - 1
Segrams 7 - 1 liter
Bacardi - 1
Gordon's Distilled London Dry Gin - 1
Martini and Rossi Vermouth - 1
Gordon's Vodka - 1
Brass Monkey - 1 (that funky monkey.....)
Whiskey Sour - 1
Manhattan (premix with alcohol) - 2
Tom Collins Mix (no alcohol) - 1
Bitters - 1
Dewar's Blended Scotch Whiskey - 1
little bit of Jim, Jack, and some other vodka

this one should be real good....
Pinch by Haig & Haig, 12 year old Blended Scotch Whiskey - 1 1/4 bottles

good start :D

pics biatch!

i've posted this before, in case you don't remember our bar discussion.

this isn't in my house, this is in my grandmother's house. my basement looks like a dungeon in comparison and has that musty smell to it. that's ok, you won't mind when you're drunk.

nice editing job bambino ;)

you could do a nice stage dive off that bar...

need to put a mirror top on it...

Yeah, I remmeber that pic, butI want to see what it looks like at your place, like what else did you do with it.

yeah man, i havn't had brass monkey since like 91 or something. prolly out of the same bottle i have now. used to sneak to the bar when my grandparents went to sleep and hit the sauce a little.....and i'd also prepare a big jar of a mix of everything to take back home. mix 12 different alcohols in a jar, shake, serve to friends. you really dont' give a fuck when you're 14, as long as you get drunk

my bro in HS took a bottle of creme de menthe once... we all passed out after the night was over - he screamed when his shit came out electric green the next morning...

not set up yet actually. 10 wing nuts, 5 screws, i had it apart. once i get it set up, it'll be pretty basic. just going to hang the rack on the wall and put the bar in front of it. i kinda like the way it looks, so no need to tear it down as of yet. but like i said, my basement looks like a dungeon, so it's going to be pretty interesting.

a Dunkin Donuts near me is remodeling and they're selling the old booths. i'm real tempted to sneak by at night and snag 2 of them.

get some mirrors and wood panelling and pimp that shit out 70s stlye with some shag carpet..

funny you should say that....most of my downstairs is wood paneling. damn glad i don't own this place!

no carpeting going into the basement, it leaks. we're actually finishing up ripping out the carpet some idiot put in there before us. that's why the basement stinks actually. not too much more to remove, but we've got all sorts of stuff piled on it.

can not wait for August to roll around. grandmother's house will no longer be my problem and i'll have time to devote to drinking all that liquer...err, i mean, setting up the bar ;)

you need to work on your bottled beer stock....some various germans and belgians, and assorted american microbrews.

and if you start having people over and shit, get a CO2 system goin

the beer situation is kinda dim at the moment. i'll brew my own instead of buying. havn't had the time. got a full brew kit for xmas (not that brewmiester crap, the REAL DEAL) and made an Irish Stout that turned out real good. costs about $25 to make 2 cases.

in about, oh, 10 years when i can buy my own house and set it up, i'll have something on tap, maybe 2 at a time. who knows. but when that day comes, this bar will be history and i'll have something perminet built.

also have a nice assortment of bar glasses i have to wash, but that won't happen til i get the basement prepped and bar set up.

bah, i have plenty of fun even w/out drinking.

oh yeah, hope no one is over 5'10"....the ceiling in the basement is kinda low. you taller folk can always stick your heads up inbetween the rafters. i think that's good for 6'2".

we have a door between the 2 basements (we're in half a double house). the actual latch is on the neighbor's side. they like to drink.....a lot. i'm going to have to put a latch on our side so they can't drain my supply.
