The Defininition of Parallel for Squats

IMO...when the hip joint is directly in line with the middle of the knee.

Actually...nearly every powerlifting fed has a different definition of parallel.

The "Q angle" is formed by the ankle, the back of the knee, and the hip crease. The angle formed by those three points has to be 90 degrees or lower.

...or you have to know the judge. :lmao:
 
The rule here is top of the thigh has to be parallel or slightly below the knee. Imagine a 90 degree angle.

I'm currently getting the guy spotting me to tell me each time when I break parallel, so I can get a "feel" for what parallel is without going too low (originally I was going low enough for OL).

If it feels easy - chances are it's not far enough down....
