Tanning!

I've been a tanning fanatic for 12 years, ever since I competed. I'm a blondie but keep a mahogany dark tan year round from both indoor and outdoor tanning. Personally I love it and get almost daily compliments, but there is so much anti-tanning crap out there right now, and few people realize there are lots of benefits to it also, like vitamin D. How many of you enjoy it or prefer to use sunless or sprayon instead? It's hard to NOT have a tan in this lifestyle!

I love tanning! It's so relaxing. I prefer tans from actual UV over sunless, but I don't mind a little sunless action for a boost once in a while. :) But you already knew that. :lmao:

Depends. When I worked dive charters in S. Florida,. I was nice & tan all the time. When I compete I do 2-3 months of base tan building & then protan. On & off I may keep a base tan via tanning bed 1-2 x/week. Have done spray tan a few times but normally I just have other priorities for the time I have available the coincides w/ the tanning bed hours.

Of course "this lifestyle" in my life ONLY requires or promotes the big tan thing during competition prep. Otherwise I'm a corporate desk jockey in real life.

I love it but try to limit to only close to competition time. I seen too many leather faces in my time and even though I like a nice tan I try not to go over board with it.

I NEVER tan my face anymore and actually haven't tanned in over 1 year - I like how I look with a tan, but some moles are looking suspicious now - so for future shows I may just Protan only....

God, I used to love being tan and laying at the pool. I miss it a lot of the time. I have not been tan in a couple years. First, because I was pregnant and now I simply have no time (have an almost 1 year old).

I always think I want to look into Mystic Tan though ...... :)

I've actually heard that you can expect those spray tan booths to be discontinued on the basis that they are hitting you w/ this mist in an enclosed space. They will instead be replaced w/ airbrushing.

Airbrushing sounds even better .... I bet it is a more smooth and even application.

It actually is really nice. I would expect you'd see beauty salons picking up on that as a 'personal treatment' aspect. For Mystic Tan you stand in the big aluminum can & it gives you a couple blasts of stuff, you wait for the fog to clear and, Voila', you are tan. Eh. I didn't like it that much actually. The airbrush - I guess because there's another person there, the whole getting nekkid thing might be an issue, but a good person can do a nice even tan.

I love the look and feel of being tanned all year round and do both in sun and sunless. I find you looked much healthier with a tan (not to mention slimmer)
I bought my own tanning bed last year a few months before comp as with 4 littllies found it hard to make the salon times. I always tan with my face covered though, don't want to look to old to fast.
