tanning and posing suits for a show...

Whats your choice, protan or dreamtan? Please explain your opinion... I've used protan and like the dark color of it but hate painting it on. Then again, the dreamtan that I've seen people wear all look golden. Whats your choice?

Also, trying to pick posing suits... What colors have you all worn and what were your favorite colors? I know each person would be different w/ how they look but curious to what everyone else has chosen.

Here's my experience -- I've always used Protan - like 3 layers of it applied over 2-3 days. Yep its gross. But it works when you are on stage. Though you have to be sure to get your face covered too or else you have the great body tan w/ the white face - which makes you look ridiculous under the hot lights. Very washed out.

Dreamtan - as long as you dont' touch it once you get it on. I did one show w/ a guy who used it and he looked like he rolled in curry on stage -- nice shiny fiery orange color. But interestingly, he took a shower between the prejudge and the night show & looked amazing at the night show. Seems if you let the stuff soak in for a few hours it treats you well later -- but I would have to experiement with this to be sure.

Posing suits - my prejudge suit is a dark blue, my night show is a shiny black w/ silver studs & a matching collar ;) I'm blonde and fairly light skinned -- these colors worked good for me. Others I would consider might be a red or a royal blue - ref: Valentina's outfits at the Arnold: http://www.ironmanmagazine.com/contests/competitor.cfm?ID=1463)

ProTan and be sure you get your ears along with your face if you have them uncovered (i.e. hair up). I've seen competitors who had great color until you saw the ears! For some reason that seems to stick out under stage lights.

I would go w/ protan...as for suits....pick colors that look good on u...bring out your features.....bright colors?? Or dramatic colors..depends on u.

My skin tone is very fair even after a month of dieting so I usually do a couple of coats of protan and then two coats of jana tana (one light coat). This creates a very natural colour unlike protan alone. As far as posing suits are concered I like bright colours. Jagware has a good selection. They have a website that you can view suits on.

whats the website for jagware?? i didnt think they had one... please post the url.

thanks :)
