Strengthmonster's heavy calf training pic

Went heavy tonight and took this photo. 300 full stack + a 20kg plate pinned on the side + three people weighing from left to right 15st, 16 1/2st and 15st = pure pain. Well over 1000lb. The guy on the left insisted on standing as far back as possible to make it harder - bastard. I got 3-4 slow, controlled reps.

Cool, you are a strong motherfucker thats for sure.
How were the blood vessles in the shoulders the next day. I ask because I usually have burst ones the next day with half that weight so I am sure you had some pretty decent bursts at 1000lbs

It's like the flying walinda's of Iron. LOL!!! Nice job SM...

that's arnold-esque.
although in all honesty, the guy on the far right doesn't look like he is adding much due to the positioning and leverage.
but it is still far more than I could do.

Thanks. It was the heaviest weight I have lifted on anything I think. My quads felt it as soon as I locked them out as I trained them only yesterday and wow did it hurt. Notice I am not wearing my belt as I have been working on strengthening my lower back at the moment. My calves are fairly strong although they arn't my best looking bodypart as can be seen on my other pics here so I've started hitting them 3 days a week now. Mon, Wed and Fri doing alternate heavy and light days. It seems to be working as they are growing and my strength is gaining - only 3 months left until my comp now though so I've still got plenty of hard work to put in. As you can imagine I went a little heavier for the photo but it was a working set. My heavy day is normally 1st set the stack for 15 reps, 2nd +20kg plate for about 12, 3rd with my partner on top - usually get about 8. Then I'll do 3 sets of seated or donkeys/leg press working at 5-8 reps failure. My light day I do it all at 8-20 reps and sometimes use drop sets etc. Here's another from tonight of me doing flies with 110's. I got 6 reps.

Believe me he was, his weight was on his right leg and his back one was just balancing him. You can see he is leaning his weight forwards onto my training partners shoulders to get his weight more central rather than sitting down at the axis point. They are all sick f*ckers and definately didn't want to make it any easier for me! I liked your 'arnold-esque' phrase though. I suppose he did do it first but I've only ever seen him do it with two, except an old photo on a donkey calf raise which is easier as your upper body is resting on your elbows meaning you are lifting less and if I recall correctly as well one of them is a slim girl. Hat's off to Arnold though. He is the man and I can't wait to see him at this years Olympia when I come over to the US.

As for the bursting blood vessels - that is why my top is drapped over my shoulders. I used to gt the marks all the time but this definately helps. I have none after tonight.
