Strange stat = Panthers over Patriots

With the Panthers heading to Houston, there are now three teams that have won less than 10 games combined the two years before playing in the Super Bowl.

The Panthers managed just eight total wins in 2001 and 2002, while the Rams won nine games the two years before Super Bowl XXXIV and the 49ers won eight the two seasons prior to Super Bowl XVI.

The Rams and 49ers both went on to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy. According to this stat, the Panthers could complete a Super Bowl Trifecta.

I feel New England is the superior team. I think the Panthers could get an upset if they hit Brady (early & often).
