ok, so I was doing my back today, and saw this guy who was doing partial deadlifts. He was lifting the barbell up about 7-8 inches above the floor. He was wearing a belt, and two guys spotted him on the sides (???). The weight he was using was only 225 lbs. So, I don't know what the hell he was doing, never seen that before.
Is that an actual exercise, and I am an ignorant soviet? Please tell me.

he could have been working a sticking point, but having spotters on only 225 makes me think he just didnt have a clue

Sounds like he was doing rack deadlifts... takes your legs out of the equation and allows you to focus a lot more on your back... also lets you pile on a lot more weight.... I personally love them....

However.. I can't see what somebody would need a spot with only 225.... thats just odd...

I believe he was only doing the bottom 6" of the movement, not the top part.

I don't get it. Usually partial DLs are from a raised position to lock out.

WHy don't you ask the guy next time you se him?
