250 farmers and 500 sled drag on grass, uphill. 2nd by 2 seconds on this event...and nearly passed out at the end of it...I did puke...twice.

Log press-How does that work?Do you see who can do the most weight at one rep?Or is it for weight and reps?


Atlas Stones-You looked real impressive with the stones.That looks like one of your strong points.


That farmers walk and sled drag looks brutal!That announcer sounded like your coach or something.Next time get Nightfly on the PA:D

At that contest it was 3 attempts for max weight. If you miss one weight...you don't get another. That was my 3rd attempt. A lot of contests do it where they give a certain weight (240 for example) and you do as many reps as you can in 60 seconds. Reps is more exciting to watch...

I don't like those smaller sized stones with my long arms. Hard to row them in. The platform we were standing on kept rolling around. You can see on the 4th stone that it was too close to the barrel. I tried to get it farther away but when I did it would just roll down the hill...lol. I love the stones. Would like to do a really big one someday...maybe a 450 someday.

The sled drag is brutal. I love the farmers though...hate the sled drag. Notice how I collapsed...I laid there for a LONG time...probably 10 minutes till they picked me up and had to carry me to a chair. The announcer is a friend of mine...Willie Wessels...president of NASS and WR holder in the SQ, BP, DL and North America's Strongest Man in the LW class.

I thrive on it when training, but you guys take it to a new level. My buddy did a strong man once, he is the nationally ranked powerlifter that I trained with that had the 800 squat and 550 bench. He got his ass thumped, think he came in 6th. Seeing that happen to him told me I should stick to my own sport. That being said, I love watching them on TV, I just dont think I have what it takes for your sport.
 
It is just different...every exercise is a total body pain...an endorphin rush. Just watch the sled drag clip where I almost passed out with about 10' left in the drag...but kept going.

I watched that clip, impressive to say the least, it looked like you gave everything you had to give and then some, I can put that sort of intensity into some of my workouts, but it's hard to do it on demand. Dragging that sled on grass must suck ass though!!!

I often just imagine that someone is trying to hurt my family or one of my loved ones...and if I don't finish...they or I will be killed. Hard to do with lifting but easier with strongman events...

It is a balls check for sure...how much more you want it than the other guy...
