Along the lines of what spatts said -- if you search out some of the "newbie" posts on the Anabolic board you will probably get several of those initial questions asked, e.g.
- what is clambutteroil?
- Can I drink winny?
- what is T3?
- I got some needles and some stuff from a friend of mine ... now what?
Another point to make while you are on a self-education trip about AS... The biggest thing you can learn about AS is that it only ENHANCES the basics. If you don't have the basics down, its either a waster or you will end up getting results (or consequences) you don't like (or didn't anticipate).
In your reading, you will note, for example, that certain modifications to your diet and/or training might be in order with particular mixes of chemical supplementation. This points to the fact that you can do some pretty kewl things with just modifications to your diet & training (w/o the AS). You said that you felt that you had hit a plateau after 1 1/2 yrs. I know I kicked around on my first leg press in about 1982 and I'm constantly redefining my "plateau". We have had lots of discussions about hitting your natural potential, etc. and when to consider jumping on the "performance enhancement" wagon. We have MANY examples of ladies (& guys of course) who have accomplished amazing things by tweaking the macronutrient components of their diets or modifying their training/cardio approaches. The thing to keep in mind about your body is that it is ever-changing. Therefore, you can't ever settle in on the "perfect" diet or training regimen and stay there. That's why they tell you to modify your training routine every 6-8 weeks. Same thing with your diet, except you have millions of other combinations to try with your food, the time you eat, the combinations you eat, etc. to help break yourself out of a plateau.
To be really honest, to say you hit your plateau just means you haven't tried enough tweaking of what you are already doing to kickstart your body's response to your diet & training again. The truth is that your body WANTS to run optimally, but you may not be giving it what it needs (or too much of what it needs) to do that, so it starts bogging down. THAT is the more powerful knowledge of everything on this board, based on my experience. To that end, I would also direct you to the Diet & Training boards for more stuff on that.
(This is a serious hat-tipping to all of our nutrition experts on here as well!!!!!!!!)
Good luck & welcome! As stated above, there are some *really* good stickies at the top of the this board. Anything you read on the AS board you should remember is probably generally in reference to how guys can dose & handle AS, so you should also cross-reference anything you want to pursue details on with info n the women's board. (I.e. when you search, enter the search words but limit the search to the women's board & see what you get.) And PLEASE, feel free to toss out ANY questions you have! I've got 2 master's degrees (not in the biological sciences) and I'm constantly learning about this stuff and how it all works together. God knows the medical community isn't completely on top and the "fitness" community is skewed by the supplement industry's marketing blitz... HERE is where you can get lsome of the basic facts as well as LOTS of real-life experience that simply hasn't been formally quantified by anyone and probably never will be.
Welcome aboard! Now let's go kick that plateau of yours!
