Steak marinade

New member
Does anyone have a steak marinade i could use that doesn't have tons of sugars, etc. in it.
I love steak at restaurants, but when I cook it at home, It tastes like rubber. :(

some help

if you don't mind sodium...

just toss on some worcestershire sauce 1/2-1 hour before you cook, DO NOT poke the steak with a fork-juices are actually lost during cooking.

or even rub some seasoning on and then coat with some olive oil and rub in

I individually (or dual) bag my steaks when I get home, I go ahead and add some oil, seasons and W sauce in the freezer bags-that way they marinate until they freeze and then again when they defrost.

Make your own rub with the spices you like,
rub your steaks with your mix, and place them in
the fridg. for 4-6 hours. Then grill them.

You might want to try sea salt instead of regular
salt, it just tastes better to me.
I know you want to avoid sugar, but try adding
a little brown sugar to the mix, it makes a
big difference.

Remember that the leaner steaks are going
to be a little tougher.

The problem with you guys is that you do not know how to cook. For example, the first step to not getting your steack hard is to get fresh and good soft cuts, such as filet mignon and others. Even if you do get a harder cut, you shouldnt pan fry it so that some water comes off. If water does come off, pick up the steack and wipe the water off. It gets hard everytime I dont do that.
You are probably getting poor quality steack. Get some that has some fat on the tip - that also adds to the tenderness. I am assuming you are not cutting since you are eating steacks at restaurants. If you are a fan of grilling like I am, you can submerge your huge steack in beer and rock salt and massage the rock salt into the meat. Let sit for 3 hours or so - and youre ready to grill that bad boy. This is a mans way to grill - not those pussy american pre made burgers with bbq sauce you guys have. Learn how to cook!
