Steak& Cheese on pita

Here's another super fast meal I eat all the time. I like to cut my meat into slices, cook up in a pan or grill...then when you're ready to make a steak and cheese, slice the meat nice and tiny, reheat, melt a few slices of provolone, mozzarella, or a combination of your favorite on it, then assemble. I think this was a 5 minute meal for me. The cheese looks a bit gross, but covered the meat evenly and tasted great. just shut your eyes..lol

needed: pita bread. either sliced and stuffed with contents or folded in half like I do. For less carbs, carefully cut in half and use half the bread.., steak, cheese of your choice, lettuce, mayonaise or your favorite condiment.

*Put the cooked, sliced meat covered with melted cheese on the pita. Add lettuce and condiments as desired. This meal can be without bread if you prefer to load up a romaine leaf with the meat and cheese..Use the romaine as your bun. I'll post this modified recipe once I take a pic.

Steak & Cheese on a low carb tortilla:
I have been buying "sirloin" steak because it looks good in the meat isle and is relatively cheap.. I got a hunk of sirloin yesterday the size of my hand for about $7. I chopped it into 3 segments, cooked it up in a pan, and then let it cool to room temp with a drizzle of terriyaki marinate penetrating into it. I make a lot of my meals from "leftovers" even though the leftovers were made for that sole purpose. For example, the above meat I cooked was cooled, put in the fridge overnight, and now today I sliced up about 4oz of meat for a new steak and cheese I have never made before. Ingredients: low carb tortilla, white american cheese covering the tortilla, meat already sliced sprinkled over the cheese, feta cheese crumbled over the top, shredded lettuce as desired. I found once the white american melted, it served as the glue holding my sandwich together. The heat from the burner browned the tortilla crisply, and since I just used one slice folded, we minimized the carb count. I also noticed no condiments were necessary because of the gooey cheese and the sharp taste of the feta. It was a good discovery..I hope you guys try this easy 5 minute meal.

* another variation I made with the identical ingredients was a small mini salad with steak. Used about 1oz steak sliced thin and chopped to maximize my impression on how much I'm getting, about 3 small stalks of romaine, one sliced chive, a few slices of shaved onion, about 1Tablespoon of vinegarette. Feta crumbled on top. Same ingredients as above, totally different meal. no bread. I'm trying to drop a few lbs, so this one's for me--
