STD Question

My little brother asked me to bring him to the doctor because he is worried that he got an STD. What kind of doctor do I bring him to???

I was thinking a Urologist but Im not sure. He wont tell me what is wrong but Im assuming he is either worried about a warts or burning when he pisses. I cant imagine anything else.

Most insurance companies won't cover you going straight to a urologist. Stop by your general practioner's office and see the Doc there first. They can either quash the problem right there (usually just some tetracycline and you're on your way), and if it's out of their league they'll refer you to another doc.

My insurance co. wouldn't even cover me going to the Dermatologist without a referral, so I highly suggest hitting the GP's office first.

Yep....stop by a walk-in general family practioners office....or take him to the health department. Either one is a lot cheaper than a urologist.

True, cause you can't test for HPV (virus that causes warts) so a blood test/donation will do nothing.
