Starvation Mode vs Calorie defecit?

Punt

I constantly read how important it is to get enough food while dieting becuase if you don't, your body goes into "starvation mode" and begins to burn muscle and not fat.

In addition, I constantly read that your body must be in a calorie defecit in order to burn fat.

What I don't understand is the difference between the two? More specifically, how does your body tell the difference?

the difference is a thin line between the two and it's just not any calories, it's gotta be the right kind of calories.

Try this, is you want to lose weight

"Losing one pound a week -- and keeping it off -- with sensible eating and exercise is probably a sensible goal. Dropping three dress or suit sizes in eight weeks isn't. One way to figure out how many calories you can eat and still lose weight is to keep a food diary for a week and figure out how many calories you're consuming now. Then create a food plan that provides about 500 calories per day less than you're eating now. As long as you're also exercising, you'll lose about one to two pounds a week -- the maximum you should shoot for. Quick weight-loss programs actually make it more difficult to lose weight, says Nelson, because they slow your metabolism.

Instead of focusing on the scale, some people find that it helps to set a more tangible goal - like fitting into a pair of jeans they can no longer wear, or simply feeling more comfortable in clothes that have gotten too tight.

now what i would do is, cut 500 calories from your diet everyday and burn 500 calories on the cardio machines and take xenadrine for a 10-12 week period.

GOOD LUCK BRO!

that weight will melt off you if you stick with the plan.

dropping one pound a week indeed is very possible and you dont have to go on CKD.

but it will require work. it wont come easy at all!

there are many theories/ways to lose bodyfat.

my favorite is to reduce cal intake by 300-500 a day and add a few extra a.m cardio sessions a week.

that method is quite easy on the body and doesnt require the idiotic "starving" methods that some retards practice.

I usaully go by 1% of your total bodyweight. So...it's possible to lose 1% of your bodyweight safely. As you lose more weight, the amount of weight your able to take off becomes smaller.

Anything more than 1% and your either dropping water weight, or losing muscle.

if you're doing hardcore dieting, it doesn't matter still more effective even if in 'starvation mode' which isn't really that much declination in metabolism, though I found it's not bad to do it in cycles... 3 weeks on hardcore diet.. pure protein low amounts of EFA and multivitamins. then eat maitanance for like a week and back on.
