Started training with a Partner

Just wanted to pass on a tip.
If you can train with someone who will do your exact split and train like you do,
DO IT.
In the last 3 weeks I have taken a computer engineer friend under my wing, though he uses alot less weight then I do he is already coming up, and my own intensity has increased since I have a spot and someone to keep me honest on the exercises we do.

This is soooo true...I used to have a buddy that would "mimick" my training split..problem comes when they fall off the map...

I like training with a partner on core exercises. Just so that the bar isn't sitting on my face. But besides that, I like to lift on my own. I can focus, get into the zone, work at my own pace, go with the feel of my body and not what someone has written down in their little journal.

But I agree, partners are a plus if they can stay with it.

Definitely agree 100%. Have been training alone 5 months now, trained with a freind at a local Golds Gym last night. He helped totally annihilate my chest
and tris. Well worth the 20 minute drive!

How this sucks so bad. Had a friend who did everything I did, awesome workouts. He moved. My brother in-law got into working out, awesome workouts. He gets lazy, and quits working out. I almost have nothing to say to him anymore when I see him.

I agree that training partners are good until they disappear. Happens everytime. I've trained alone now for the better part of 8 years. I don't go quite as heavy but at least I know that I'll show up

I have never kept a consistant training partner for more than 6 months or so. It was actually a woman. She was AWESOME!! I got into incredible shape because the rapid pace she set just kicked the hell out of me.

I wish I had someone to push me more. I use a lot of machines and dumbells that I can drop just incase I fail but not much of free weights just cause I don't have anyone

sometimes I dont like asking people for spots which sucks. hey buddy can you give me a spot..a minute later hey bro can you spot me again...thats why a partner helps..but it is sooo true..they always seem to fall off.

i like a partner sometimes, but then i like training alone most of the time, people get on my fucking nerves

I lifted with my best friend for close to 10 years, and it made a huge difference in terms of motivation. Then he decided to become a runner and lifts girly weights now. Prick.

my arms are naturally large and have taken them for granted and now they are not as advanced as they were before.

I can only hit them really hard when I am with someone...............its great now to be able to do so

yeah with this guy I have to condition him for later power moves
so we are useing less weight for more reps, and it has had a conditioning effect for me as well.

I have partners come and go as well....i always say i'm at the gym at this time so if your there great if not no worries cause i'm there and i'm doing my thing...but awesome to have someone there to help push a rep out or to lift heavier...GOOD PARTNERS ARE A DIAMOND..hahahahahaha kidding

congratz.

I never did like training with a partner... actually come to think of it, I had one for about a week a few months ago... gotta give him a call (old friend), lol.

I'd rather Train someone... or train myself.

Its just hard to find someone that will push me harder then I push myself. And one that is willing to put the time in. Scheduals are a bitch to work around too. I like to go when I feel like it... not at a time. But when I can workout with my best bud we kill it. But its just doesnt happen enough.
