I am currently drinking a dex/maltodextrin and whey shake immediately after working-out. But after posting another question, I found that it may be better to split this shake into two....
First drink the dextrose (with creatine if your on it) immediately after working out to replace muscle glycogen!
Then drink a whey (protein-only) shake about 30 mins after to start repairing the muscles!
I understand the theory but was wondering from those who are doing this or have done this in the past, what were the results? Did you have better recovery, more strength gains, etc.?
It sounds interesting but I am so used to the "need protein ASAP after working out" thing and the spliting up will delay the protein by 30mins or so.... Just wondering
